A majority of millennials in a new survey wants a third political party.
An NBC News/GenForward poll finds 71 percent of millennials think there should be a third major party because neither the Republican nor Democratic parties represent the American people well.

Not sure I want a third, but I'd love a new party as an outright replacement of the RNC and GOP... you know, a party that actually represents the notions of Limited Government, lower taxes, lower spending, enforcement of immigration laws, developing the military with a focus on war preparation and not social engineering, standing against the Liberal/Progressive/Marxist movement.... you know, those tired old ideas.
Millennial’s, as they are called are part of the deliberate dummbing down of America...three decades plus of worthless education....most don’t even know the name of their V.P. or can spell the street they live on...what would they do with a third party? I think we have one now under President Trump....
I believe the powers that be thought of this before the millenials. One giant stumbling block to a 3rd party is the gerrymandering of the congressional districts.
In recent years, many of the states have "addressed" the gerrymandering issue by amending their constitutions to set up bi-partisan re-districting commissions. These commissions were sold as being the end of gerrymandering. This was a complete lie. The "bi-partisan commissions" simply enshrined the 2 party system into the law. This insures that the dems and repubs are free to get together after every census and carve out safe districts that will never allow for a 3rd party challenge.
They could call themselves the Snowflake Party!
I didn’t say to legalize it, I said to decriminalize it. That’s as simple as not arresting users. You can still focus on suppliers/dealers but arresting minority inner city kids for smoking a joint is pretty pointless in today’s day and age.
Reagan got drug use down because Nancy jawboned the issue and some kids actually listened. Trump can do the same without sending a lot of people to jail for this.
TRUMP is the third party.
Party 1 "Liberal Socialist" represented by Bernie.
Party 2 "Moderate" represented by Hillary or Jeb. Yes, I know Hillary isn't a moderate, but when does she ever tell the truth?
Party 3 "Conservative Right" represented by Pres. Trump.
Still think that this may be the direction we're headed, with both the Dems and Republicans in such disarray, it wouldn't surprise me to see one or both of them splinter apart.

I’d like a second party that is not full of swamp creatures. I know ConservaTeen’s friends are conservative with libertarian views. Marijuana and gay rights is a non issue with them. They are small government Conservatives.
What is stopping them?
All true American conservatives are small government - our founding document states "to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men". Anyone who thinks government should do more than secure our unalienable rights may be a rightist but is no conservative.
Your contrast between legalizing and decriminalizing pot was crystal clear. Thanks for offering it.

- keep pot illegal
- but go easy in enforcing it against the weak sisters who abuse it
- have leaders discourage the weaklings amongst us from abusing it

Reagan, Nancy, and Trump believe in Americans. They are also great at encouraging and building up Americans. As Trump Makes America Great Again, fewer Americans will be clintonian and obamian losers, and thus pot abuse — which is a manifestation of low self esteem — will subside.
Exactly. There will not be a complete eradicating of marijuana no matter what. My Dad told me when he was growing up in the 40’s (born in 1930) that there was plenty of pot smoked in his day, it was just not talked about like we do today.
And I suspect that during Prohibition that was an outlet too in that time. The movie Reefer Madness was the early attempt at scaring people away from the drug but it was so campy and over the top that it wasn’t effective.
A lot of people have forgotten but until about 90 years ago you could go into a pharmacy and buy cocaine (or whatever it was named back then) OVER THE COUNTER, as a treatment for certain ailments. Sherlock Holmes wrote a book about his cocaine usage.
I was no angel at this myself. As a 20-something living in NY in the 80’s I certainly smoked my fair share (yes, I was a conservative back then too!) but never experimented with coke or anything else like too many of my friends did. I saw 5 friends get hooked on cocaine and that’s why I believe having an outlet to keep those from taking the really addictive stuff does make sense. And I do believe that it helps with controlling the side effects from chemotherapy so narrow medical use is acceptable to me.
I just would prefer to emphasize keeping everyone away from the opioids, heroin and cocaine and if we are left with some marijuana use I can accept that as a tradeoff.
