Wimpy response is for our benefit, not to enrage NK. South Koreans must be in full bore panic about now, and desperate for the US to secure them, perhaps more forcefully.
I am wondering if we have the muscle we need to address one big theater, should another break out. What Obama hollowed out has not been fully assessed for the public’s knowledge and consumption. Understandable, but nevertheless concerning for the state of readiness we are actually in at this time.

North Korea shot off this missile because it was
humiliated by the successful defection of its soldier
across the DMZ last week. They probably felt they needed
to do something to save face.
