ISIS Last Stand; End Times For The Caliphate

Hezbollah, recaptured the city of Abu Kamal in Deir Ezzor province. The city was the last bastion for the terrorist group, ISIS, which, at one time, controlled a vast swathe of land stretching from northern Iraq to central Syria. Now the group has been chased from its last urban hideaway and scattered across the arid wastelands like a nomadic tribe wandering the dessert. Abu Kamal was ISIS’s “last stand”, the final chance to fend off the advancing loyalist forces and reverse the course of the war. But the three-pronged attack proved to be too much for the demoralized jihadists who fled the city northward or surrendered to Syrian troops on the perimeter. Thus, ISIS no longer occupies any of the major towns or cities that once comprised the emerging Wahhabi proto-state. The group has been soundly defeated, its leadership is in tatters and the star-crossed Caliphate has met its end.

Although large parts of the country remain under the control of al-Qaida-linked groups and the other Sunni militias, Russian President Vladimir Putin believes the combat part of the war is nearing its end and wants to begin preparations for a political settlement. This view is shared by the entire Putin administration including Deputy Defense Minister Valery Gerasimov. On Monday, Gerasimov said:

(snip)

It’s worth noting, that the western media has entirely ignored the defeat of ISIS at Abu Kamal mainly because it was the Russian-led coalition that delivered the final blow. In the current climate in the US, any facts that fail to support the anti-Russia hysteria that has swept the country, are scrubbed from publication. So while the headlines at the New York Times should have read: “Russia Crushes ISIS in Syria”, they instead focused on the trivial details of the latest sex scandal.

Donald J. Trump has shown the world what it takes to win: You must actually be willing to FIGHT and not give lip-service.

ISIS thrived when it had financial support. As long as there is funding, there will be an endless supply of young Muslim men willing to join up. The real crushing of ISIS was when the Saudi princes were arrested by the new king.

The thrust for the reintroduction of the Caliphate is shifted from Syria to Turkey, with Recep Tayyip Erdogan posing as the next First Caliph. Turkey has been turned from a secular state to a theocratic state, reverting to the days of the Ottoman Empire, and with tacit support from Iran. This leaves another great faction, the Saudis, as the one primary restraining factor (the Sunni) in the Middle East in the coming inter-Islamic battles.

Turkey is in a peculiar position, in that probably some 70% of the Muslims there profess to be Sunni, and about 20% are Alevite, rather like the Alawite of Jordan, but they speak Turkish rather than Arabic. The remaining 10% or so are a form of Sufi, the least dogmatic form of Islam. And also the ones most persecuted by the more militant Muslims. The gentle Sufi, those of the mosque recently attacked in the Sinai Peninsula, are the most peaceful of Muslims, and the one primary voice of reason within Islam, so naturally, they are the main target of the more militant Muslims. This will be the objective of what is left of ISIS, to bring what they considered to be “apostates” into line, or eliminate them altogether.

It is really hard for me get my mind around how successful Trump has been in dealing with ISIS. This has been an alternative to Clinton and the Islamorats and Bush’s neocons that wasn’t even on the board two years ago. What an incredible job.

Neocons want constant war. They had no desire to end it.

Less than one year since the election and ISIS is destroyed. Make me wonder, was the previous administration Totally Incompetent or were they actually covertly supporting ISIS? Also the silence from the MSM is deafening.

Last stand for this particular outfit.

A good thing, but the larger Muslim terrorist problem isn't going away any time soon.

Eternal vigilance, please.

Most of the solutions to the worlds’ problems are actually very simple, it just requires guts and honesty to implement them.
Defeating ISIS is simply a matter of letting the brave men and women of our Armed Forces do their jobs WITHOUT one hand tied behind their backs.
Simplicity is and always has been the key to success.

Interesting commentary thanks for sharing,

I’ll never forget those pics of Erdogan and Obama together behaving like they had some man boy love association going on, creepy to say the least,

Erdogan is an anti-Christ wannabe and what the Saudis are up too lately I still haven’t figured out,
