“Slaves were not allowed guns and owners had them, every last one.”

This canard is floated around all the time. Can anyone cite laws or something that forbade negro slaves from owning firearms? I don’t think it is true. Maybe in later times when the precursors of what we call modern day democrats ran things. But then they don’t want any of us to own firearms.

Sorry, I just assumed. I know the patrollers were out with guns to look for the runaways. I assumed the plantation owners didn’t allow the slaves to gather arms. For obvious reasons.
