Anger at Special Counsel Robert Muller Burns White Hot on the Right Wing
The Hill ^ | 11/26/17 ast | BY JONATHAN EASLEY

Anger at Robert Mueller is burning white-hot on the right and in conservative media, where calls for the special counsel to recuse himself from the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election have reached a fever pitch.

President Trump has largely held his fire on Mueller, even as the probe into his campaign officials has intensified. White House lawyers are hopeful that the investigation will end soon and absolve the president and his inner circle of wrongdoing.

But the influential conservative media outlets that Trump is known to follow closely have been building an expansive case against Mueller.

From Fox News to Breitbart and talk radio, conservative media has been drawing attention to Mueller’s relationship with fired former FBI Director James Comey and his hiring of Democrats for his investigative team. They also argue Mueller has gone far beyond his mandate of investigating Russian interference in the election.

Conservative media has taken a new tack against Mueller in recent weeks, zeroing in on the sale of Canadian mining company Uranium One to the Russia state-owned nuclear firm Rosatom.

Uranium One, at the time of the deal, held licenses for about 20 percent of America’s uranium production capacity. The sale was approved by nine members on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) in 2010, while President Obama was in office. Mueller was the director of the FBI at the time.

But reporting by The Hill has shown that the FBI had knowledge of bribery and racketeering schemes at Tenex, a subsidiary of Rosatom, before CFIUS approved the deal.

Re: “Jeff Sessions is in place to ensure that Mueller brings down Trump.”

I thought Donald Trump appointed Jeff Sessions?

The Drudge Report currently has a link to a surprisingly balanced biography of Robert Mueller written by the L.A. Times.

I learned some things that will be of interest to Conservatives...

Although Mueller is a “Republican,” in 1998 he was appointed U.S. Attorney for the Northern District (San Francisco) of California by President Bill Clinton.

The only way that could happen was if Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein, and Nancy Pelosi signed off on Mueller's appointment before it happened!

Additionally, during the Bush One administration, Mueller held several senior executive positions in the Justice Department and worked closely with RINO James Baker on national security issues.

That might help explain how Bush Two made the decision to appoint Mueller as FBI Director.

Also of note, Obama asked the U.S. Senate to extend “Republican” Mueller's term as FBI Director for two years.

That happened in early 2011, just as the “Uranium One” bribery scandal (which involves both Clintons) was bubbling to the surface.

Mueller the same guy who went after Hatrfill on Anthrax because he was associated with friends in South Africa, using uncertified bloodhounds to make up evidence - this despite that Hatfill never handled anthrax.

It was later found that mentally ill Ivins was the one handling anthrax at the labs , and he eventually comitted suicide after being targeted by the FBi.

Mueller is hanging by a thread. When the FBI informant Chambers testifies on Uranium One, and provides documentary proof that the FBI knew of illegal Russian activity but did not pass on that information to either congress or the agencies entrusted with approving the deal, Mueller will be finished.

He should be, but he's effectively the AG for all such matters, and Trump's hands are being tied by Ryan and McConnell. Unless there's some new blood to the fight, the lines are already drawn, and Mueller is in the driver's seat as of now.

This is the most important point of all in light of current events. Not only Mueller, but Rosenstein, were involved in covering that story up.

Until he gets fired. Then investigated. Then tried. Then convicted. Then sentenced. That will be justice.

What indictment? And if you're only going on Twitter rumors, there's stronger evidence than Twitter nonsense out there that she's already been granted full immunity.

We can only hope, but right now Mueller is a sacred cow in D.C. He even has his own cheering section right here on FR if you haven’t noticed yet.

“Sessions is too busy with his war on medical marijuana to go after real crime.”

Yep! And who does the “war on drugs” support the most? The large government police organizations like the FBI and BATF.

Which government organizations have been demonstrated to be corrupt from the top down? FBI, BATF, CIA.....

" “corrupt political criminals DON”T RECUSE THEMSELVES FROM POSITIONS OF POWER EVER.” The corrupt political criminal Sessions recused himself from catching other corrupt political criminals. "

Good Point! Yes he did and I'm starting to think he needs to be investigated as part of the cover up.

I have confidence in the President. As soon as tax reform goes through, good or bad, Sessions is gone.

Re: “Not only Mueller, but Rosenstein, were involved in covering that story up.”

As I recall, Rosenstein actually supervised the three Uranium One bribery-extortion cases as the U.S. Attorney for Maryland.

Besides Mueller, one more name from the Obama era FBI also pops up - Andrew McCabe, who directly supervised the FBI investigation into Uranium One.

For reasons unknown, Trump promoted Rosenstein to Deputy A.G., and he promoted McCabe to Deputy FBI Director.

Talk about foxes in the hen house!

Is that Chambers as in Whittaker Chambers?

Or did you mean William Campbell?

I find it hilarious when the left screams that Trump is interfering when he’s discussing how the Executive Branch department should behave. It’s really stupid, but they don’t give up.
