Conservatives have a new court-packing plan, and in the spirit of the holiday, its a turducken of a scheme: a regulatory rollback hidden inside a civil rights reversal stuffed into a Trumpification of the courts. If conservatives get their way, President Trump will add twice as many lifetime members to the federal judiciary in the next 12 months (650) as Barack Obama named in eight years (325). American law will never be the same.
The outer turkey in the plan is the ongoing Trumpification of the courts. In the final two years of Obamas presidency, Senate Republicans engaged in tenacious obstruction to leave as many judicial vacancies unfilled as possible. The Garland-to-Gorsuch Supreme Court switch is the most visible example of this tactic but far from the only one: Due to GOP obstruction, the number of [judicial] vacancies . . . on the table when [Trump] was sworn in was unprecedented, White House Counsel Donald McGahn recently boasted to the conservative Federalist Society.
Trump is wasting no time in filling the 103 judicial vacancies he inherited. In the first nine months of Obamas tenure, he nominated 20 judges to the federal trial and appellate courts; in Trumps first nine months, he named 58. Senate Republicans are racing these nominees through confirmation; last week, breaking a 100-year-old tradition, they eliminated the blue slip rule that allowed home-state senators to object to particularly problematic nominees. The rush to Trumpify the judiciary includes nominees rated unqualified by the American Bar Association, nominees with outrageously conservative views and nominees significantly younger (and, therefore, likely to serve longer) than those of previous presidents. As a result, by sometime next year, 1 in 8 cases filed in federal court will be heard by a judge picked by Trump. Many of these judges will likely still be serving in 2050.

Judgeships are open and need filling. The president was elected by us. The president gets to nominate those judges. That is the way The Constitution was written.
The real problem is slow walking Mitch McConnell. He wants Trump to fail so as to preserve the present corrupt system of government. He is a creature of the Swamp!
That is a great list of WINNING!
I totally agree with your assessment on what would have happened had Hitlery won.
We didnt just dodge a bullet, we stopped CWII
Then break up some of the larger circuits, such as the Ninth, and fill those vacancies you just created.
Probably not all next year, but almost certainly during his tenure.

Judgepacking?
One certainly would hope that President Trump continues to appoints men and women of high moral character who revere the law and the Constitution, such as the late Antonin Scalia and Judge Neil Gorsuch.
So far, I believe he is living up to his promise to the American people re: his judicial appointments.
MAGA!
Weinstein was a big bundled. Gone. Women dont trust men who support women causes to just bed them. Oh identity politics is a big winner.
Breathtaking plan? WTF? It’s standard procedure.
Praise the Lord!
trump was Americas last chance. the court system was just barley hanging on as an institution that could be trusted to do the job. if Hillary had gotten to appoint judges America as I no it would of died. the Trump presidency was a miracle and probably saved more the just the united states from ruin brought on by internationalists with no loyalty to any nation.
Senate impeaches Roberts. Frosting on the cake.
REMEMBER ROBERTS HAD HIS ILLEGAL ADOPTION IN HIS CLOSET WHEN HE GAVE US OBAMACARE,scum
“..... Many of these judges will likely still be serving in 2050” Long may they live.”......
We all best hope they don’t turn out to be “wolves in sheep clothing”.

Yea, our politicians here in Texas didn’t talk about it, but people have breaking points and our leaders (at least for the short term) would have been pushed well beyond those points.
Obama would have loved to have been the one to put us in our place...but he still didn’t have enough control over the courts. But Hillary, starting with Garland, and then having total control of the lower courts...she would have had that power.
The one last hope on our side, ironically, was Hillary’s biggest supporter on the right - Mark Levin. He may have been able to pull off his Article 5 Convention of the States. Well, not really, Hillary’s Supreme Court would have found a reason to shoot that down too (and I know, it’s not in their jurisdiction...but since when did that matter to those types of judges)...and with the Supreme Court telling Levin to take a hike, Hillary would have used whatever assets would support her for enforcement of their decision, which likely would have included most of Obama’s neutered military. And so the last peaceful chance at saving the country would have passed by.
At this point, everything now depends on Trump’s successes on the Courts. It’s really sad. I tell people that EVERY Supreme Court decision should be 9-0 no matter who’s on the court...as they all read from the same Constitution (or at least should), and the same set of laws. This does need to be corrected, and maybe Levin will still have success under Trump, as Trump would actually NOT jail Levin, as Hillary would have.
What was his master plan?
On what grounds would the Senate impeach Roberts?
When FDR found SCOTUS would not uphold his unconstitutional expansions of Federal power he proposed increasing the number of justices on the Supreme Court. Solely for the purpose of filling the newly created slots with left wing toadies.

The Marxists and Progressives, acting through their fellow traveler “Liberals” and sometimes even through some RINOs, have been “packing” the American judiciary for more than fifty years, so, finally, its about time some true balance can be restored to the courts.
