Canadians, by & large, are insufferably smug....the most rotten, vile political arguments I have had on other sites over the last several years have been with Canadians.
What people forget these days is that, on the internet, you never really know who you are speaking with. Maybe you're talking with Canadians, maybe not. Maybe the Canadian you're talking to is some snot-nosed 13-year-old from Toronto. Maybe every actual Canadian that posts on a particular site is a left-wing nutbag from Toronto or Vancouver. Or, God forbid, Montreal.
I'm convinced that one of the reasons that so much anti-American BS is able to spread in the internet age is because people have a natural tendency to follow the herd. So if you get a bunch of young Americans on various websites who are getting their marching orders from the "consensus" on the site, they might not realize that half the people on the site aren't even American. If the young Americans were talking to these people in person, they might dismiss their opinions as just trash-talking that is to be expected from foreigners (including Brits, Aussies and Canadians). But since you never know for sure unless they tell you, these young Americans think "Gosh, even other Americans think the USA is racist, mysogynistic, ignorant, etc. So I guess it must be."

Good points, all. Yet one has only to look at CBC News & Canadian government officials to see the rivers of filth that they vomit upon the States on a regular basis to get a feel for the culture up there. We all know about their “show trials” for conservatives like Mark Steyn. There’s plenty of evidence that modern Canada is a hostile, leftist redoubt.
