President Donald Trump should give special thanks to two U.S. Senators this Thanksgiving weekend. One is still serving in the Senate, the other recently retired. One is a Republican. The other a Democrat. And what should President Trump be thanking them for? Quite simply they have handed him one of the biggest victories any president could claim in the past 45 years.
Yes, this has happened even as one of the most widely covered stories of the past year has been President Trump's difficulties in working with Congress. The growing rift between him and Republican Senators John McCain, Jeff Flake, and Bob Corker alone has made headlines for months. For a U.S. president to have this many public feuds with senators from his own party this early in his presidency is really unprecedented and makes for hot news copy.
But that story ignores a bigger and longer-lasting development in the federal judiciary. That brings us first to naming the Republican gift giver: Senator Chuck Grassley from Iowa. The longtime member of Congress has big time clout as the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. And Grassley has just used that clout to eliminate one of the final hurdles in the already furious pace of Trump administration judicial appointments to the federal bench.
Which helps to drain the Deep State Swamps from coast to coast and in between!
Bannon is doing far more damage to the Democrats/Rinos/Never Trumpsters from outside the WH !
The mediots, rioting liberals and liberal mayors, who are dissing Trump 24/7, are in for some fun times from Bannon and Gorka.
There will be zero mercy on the Rinos, mediots and Never Trumpsters in Congress and Rino's like the B$tch Mitch from Bannons new op center.
Bannon has now entered a Free Fire Zone and will take Zero Prisoners on the Hudson and Potomac rivers.
I think you are right. McConnell and Ryan are useless.
I'm currently undecided on that point. For too many elections people tell me to vote for the RINO otherwise another Dem will get in. I usually wind up regretting that because the RINOS cause as much damage, if not more sometimes, than Dems.
I really want to rid the place of the old timers... RINOs and Dems alike (there's not much difference these days). I think that getting new blood in there can be better than retaining some of the corrupt old swamp creatures.
I am all for taking out RINOs in the primaries, but in the general election if the choice is voting for a RINO or letting Chuckie Schumer become Senate Majority Leader then I will vote for the RINO.
If the Democrats retake the Senate then no Trump judicial or other nominee will ever again make it to the Senate floor for a vote.
The war to save our nation can only be won in the primaries and lost in the general election.
Whoever would have thought back then that Dirty Harry would be good for something?
We can thank that corrupt greedy Harry Reid too...
Love Winning!!!!
No we don’t need term limits... we need to replace the liberals with conservatives who serve FOREVER....
I’m comfortable with that too,but it is not feasible. The lawyers have seized conrol of all branches of government at every level and they make the laws to benefit themselves.
Term limits gives those employees of the deep state more power while keeping elected officials in the permanent position of being 'newbies'.
Term limits weakens our Representatives and strengthen the power of the bureaucracy...
You're coming from a good place Neoliberalnot because term limits are a good idea in theory... but reality makes it a horror. Possibly if all civil service employees in DC were also 'term limited' it might work but that's unlikely to happen - and has major downsides too.
Legislators make the laws and worse yet are judges who decide what laws they like even if supported by popular vote. Note that trump had the power to override EPA’s desire to shut down the coal industry. Absent term limits, legislators become just like the bureaucracy employees, in it for their entire careers just like the bureaucrats.
