You just don’t know Natural Law Theory. That’s all. You can’t understand the philosophy that developed all the concepts of free will, freedom, private property rights, individualism, virtue, and true natural rights only come from God. And of course, it is ONLY the Christian God—the dominate religion for over 1000 years in Western Civilization that formed the ideas of Common Law and Magna Carta and the Lockean theory which created Rule of Law and the US Constitution and Justice System.

Philosphy backs ALL those ideas-—and it is a collection that spans over 2400 years and it takes years to understand after classes and study and intense reading. I’ve gone back to school and taken college courses on Natural Law Theory from a Jesuit, no less (LOL).

Read Chesterton sometime...another brilliant mind who could spot the evil George Bernard Shaw and the flaws in his “thinking” when the World glorified him.

“The Declaration of Independence dogmatically bases all rights on the fact that God created all men equal; and it is right; for if they were not created equal, they were certainly evolved unequal. There is no basis for democracy except in a dogma about the divine origin of man.” (the genius GK Chesterton)

Dear, dear - all that reading and yet you can't produce a single quotation in support of a general authority of government to punish sin.
