I recall when cocaine use was increasing in the late 1970’s.

Many stories said the same thing: non-addictive, benign drug.

Hard to tell how it might be abused until it has been in wide use for a while.

I was turned on to coke in my teens (80’s.) I remember it feeling like the best thing in the world. It turned my normally melancholy, shy self into a happy exuberant one. Then I did too much once, mixing it with alcohol as well. Worst feeling, thought I would die. Didn’t touch the stuff after. Nowadays I can’t even tolerate Benadryl or cold medicines. Suffered with very painful muscle spasms for a couple of days cause I refuse to take the muscle relaxants. I’m dreading the time that I will need to be on narcotics for old age pains, surgeries whatever.
