I was very sick during college and experienced chronic fatigue syndrome for ten years after that. It finally went away. It was horrible. GOOD LUCK!
As a pharmacist I hope this is true. However I doubt it most severely unless there is a new and undiscovered mechanism for opioad pain control that is not also involved with addiction.
We do have non steroidal drugs that are very effective for post-op pain. I used them myself after being an organ donor. I was on morphine for a few days and then went the non steroidal route. It was great. The pain was controlled and I was not disoriented nor a little bit crazy as while on the morphine. These unique drugs are very effective but have severe consequences if used for long periods. Bleeding out is not good.
I hope this new drug is as advertised. I doubt it.
Ketoralac is a great drug for post op pain. If used for to long it will make you bleed out and that is not goodl
I was turned on to coke in my teens (80’s.) I remember it feeling like the best thing in the world. It turned my normally melancholy, shy self into a happy exuberant one. Then I did too much once, mixing it with alcohol as well. Worst feeling, thought I would die. Didn’t touch the stuff after. Nowadays I can’t even tolerate Benadryl or cold medicines. Suffered with very painful muscle spasms for a couple of days cause I refuse to take the muscle relaxants. I’m dreading the time that I will need to be on narcotics for old age pains, surgeries whatever.
It’s the same now. My daughter was in her second year of classes for nursing and she had to go even when she had flu with fever. I couldn’t understand why they’re that strict to not even let a very sick person make up a class when they get better.
I’ve always preferred Pepsi...
thanks- yes it is miserable- not fun at all- glad yours is better-
your benadryl reaction is interesting- people with firbro experience a reaction called Herxheimer Reaction when taking benadryl- there was a ‘benadryl protocol’ used to treat fibro- where people woudl get the Herxheimer Reaction- bu it can happen in many chronic issues like lyme diseas, cancer, arthritis etc-
it’s basically a detox of the body- where the body ‘feels worse before it gets better’ supposedly
Shortly after, I felt dizzy, so I flopped back on the bed and had some amazing hallucinations. Edgar Allen Poe was known to use laudanum, a related drug. No wonder some of his writing was weird.
Yeah... something that puts me in la-la-land and still does nothing about the pain is not what I have in mind.
I want something that will actually stop the pain, and leave me clear-headed.
