“Once reputable”?

Maybe it’s not a question of how long ago, but it means that they printed the truth ONCE. By accident.

Comparing the president to a psychopathic murderer is Newsweak fake news.

I think the the last era Newsweek was “Reputable” was probably before Watergate happened. Since then it has had a long slow slide in Oblivion. As the man said in a movie. “I’ll buy that for a dollar”.

That ship sailed during the Eisenhower administration.

Donald Trump knows his audience and he speaks in simple enthymemes. He allows the listeners and readers to supply the missing premises. With your screen name, you should appreciate this trait.

Remember all the times the MSM reminded us that Obama was this ... brilliant orator? Turned out that all along he’s just an empty suit, an AA product reading cue cards and stammering a lot of the time.

If results are the measure, President Trump has forgotten more about rhetoric than most speech writers can command. These are his own words and words are terms—symbols that represent images and thoughts.

He’s the kind of guy you size-up as a little simple—until he leaves the table with your cash, wrist watch and shirt. He’s a businessman. DC is afraid of him. I’m surprised more people haven’t figured this out yet.
The strange thing is, ideologically he’s still working things out. He’s still open minded, with the elephant culling issue as a recent example.
The metamorphosis of this seven decades old phenomenon, `The Donald’, is happening in real time.

When was Newsweek ever reputable? I remember seeing a liberal bias (although I didn’t know what to call it then) when I was in college in the mid 60’s

When was Newsweak ever reputable? Once, maybe. But that was a long time ago.

Once-reputable? The rag was a source of fake news in the early 60s. Did it become reputable later?

Agreed. It was fake news before anyone realized what fake news was.

"When was Newsweak ever reputable? Once, maybe. But that was a long time ago."

Newsweak has become a pamphlet, not unlike the ones handed out by ragged socialists giving you a copy of The Daily Worker.

They haven’t been credible for 50 years now. If they were ever credible, I mush have been too young to remember. 8>)
