The floundering Daily News lost $90.4 million over the last three years including $23.7 million of red ink in the year ended Dec. 25.
Revenue last year tumbled 14.2 percent, to $144.78 million, according to a regulatory filing on Monday.
Paid print Monday-to-Friday circulation slipped to 182,472 in the second quarter, according to the Alliance for Audited Media...

Tronc paid too much!
cheap, for a 3 year advertising budget
They use this as their personal tool to promote their agenda, disguised as ‘news’
Ping of happiness.
Is this the one that hates Trump, or the more conservative one?
It’s esentially a college newspaper now, with bumper to bumper immature attempts at being wry, funny, and insightful.

Daily News ad from a happier era. “Relax and take a break with the New York Daily News!”
Here is another fishwrap rapidly headed into oblivion.
Maybe George Soros can buy a bunch of phony on-line subscriptions.... keep the old ad prices up.
NY Daily News hates, hates, hates Trump
The NY Post is the more conservative paper
$90 million??? Hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
I’ve heard the newspaper business is in free fall.
Anyone who knows more, please correct me. But I’ve heard that print circulation/paid subscriptions of the printed newspaper have fallen by 30-40% in most cities since the year 2000.
While internet subscriptions have been growing, those don’t come close to replacing the lost revenue from people who no longer buy the printed newspaper.
And newspaper ad revenue has gone way down, with fewer readers, ad rates for display ads, classified ads, etc have gone way down. Total advertising is way down as businesses and people advertising elsewhere now.
As an aside, I work for a healthcare corporation which recruits healthcare personnel such as nurses. Total employment ad spending in 2005 for newspaper classified ads was over $250,000 at one of our hospitals. Total employment ads spending in 2016 for such ads was $5,000. We are advertising heavily elsewhere, not in the newspaper.
Add it all up, and it’s a perfect storm for the newspaper business model.
To begin recovery, they should do something unique to the MSM....
Try printing the truth, assholes!
Ha! That’s what they get for hiring a white guy pretending to be black!
The newspaper business is in free fall. That is why you can hardly count the propaganda tools, NYT and WaPo as newspapers. Two of the worlds richest men saved each of these when they were bleeding subscribers and staff. Billionaire Jeff Bezos bought the WaPo outright for about half of whatAmazon was paid by the CIA to create a cloud for USA intelligence services. Billionaire Carlos Slim of Mexico (tracphone, etc.) bailed out the NYTimes twice.
Carlos Slim also has big business interests with the U.S. government, providing Safelink phones under the Lifeline program (Obamaphones).
Our tax dollars at work. Drain the swamp !
Good! I can’t even stand to read it online for free any more, as all it does is bash Trump, bash any conservative pols, rave about the wonderful NYC school system (they had to be PAID to write so glowingly about the cesspool the school system has become) and rave about any leftist crap. I hope it burns to the ground.
