As a side note, I recently heard Rush Limbaugh claim he was on Trump’s side since he announced.
I distinctly remember Rush panicking in Q4 of 2015 telling his audience Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz were just as good a choice as Trump. He was not on board. Period.
I was sure Rush was compromised somehow.
He continues to this day to use the “Trumpists” term to describe Trump supporters the same way the Cruzbots were out here throwing similar epithets around.

I didn’t hear him say that, but if he did it’s a bald-faced lie. For months on end, he spoke of Trump contemptuously, making sure to read EVERY anti-Trump article that he could get his hands on, while touting Cruz and Rubio as “real conservatives” and utterly admirable men.
Rush clearly was not a Trump supporter from the get-go. He was more of a GOP Inc Company Guy. He called “Marco Rubio” a “rock ribbed” conservative in the midst of the primary, for example, and I don’t think anyone had any idea what the hell he was talking about.
Rush is full of poop on that one. These R talkers are all liars about their treatment of Trump in the primary. Excepting Dennis Prager, who was virulently anti Trump but talks OPENLY NOW about how he was wrong, how only a billionaire, very secure in his own skin, patriot could have taken on the whole DC machine. He is the only one. Dennis sees what he didn’t see then, and can explain it. Trump’s unsophisticated behavior is a small fault compared with fighting the evil left on both sides of the aisle.
Sean truly was agnostic on Trump early (rather than NeverT like the rest) and he knew Trump personally. Both these men are very secure and bold. So Hannity was aware Trump might just be the one to get this done. Before Hannity openly supported Trump, you could tell his lean. Right around my father’s death it was pretty clear on Hannity’s show that he already was thinking Trump could be the one, and that was March 1, 2016.
