Since 1927, TIME Magazine has chosen a Person of the Year, defined as a person (or people) who has had the most influence over the news in the last 12 months.
In 2016, the Person of the Year was Donald J. Trump, who upended the political world after unexpectedly defeating his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton to become the President of the United States. The year before, German Chancellor Angela Merkel was named Person of the Year after she led Europe through a series of political and economic crises.
Many of 2017s biggest headlines were a reflection of the year that preceded it. After President Trump was inaugurated in January, both the U.S. and the world began adjusting to a new administration and a new President who wanted to undo much of his predecessors legacy, whether that meant withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement or working to revamp the nations healthcare system. Warnings from the intelligence community that Russia was attempting to wage an interference campaign in the 2016 election escalated into a major investigation helmed by former FBI Director Robert Mueller; the inquiry has already resulted in indictments against two former Trump campaign officials. In another major news story of 2017, sexual harassment and misconduct allegations against powerful figures like Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein and comedian Louis C.K. sparked a long overdue conversation about the treatment of women in the workplace.
TIMEs editors ultimately have jurisdiction over who is deemed Person of the Year but the reader plays an important role. TIMEs annual Person of the Year poll provides the editors a window into who you think most shaped 2017. This is your chance to cast your vote for who you think had the biggest influence over the news.

who cares...please! get it over with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
President Trump of course. He and Russia have almost completely destroyed ISIS already, economy doing great at 3%, which Obama claimed was impossible, and North Korea might get wrapped up by the end of the year. Any of those would have gotten Obama another Nobel Prize.
You mean, other than Colin Kapernick?

Pres. Trump!
The only other person besides Trump would be Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia.
...Carlos Danger
Yes, that was my guess, seriously.
If he hasn’t been the man of the year, this will be it.
TIME’s Man of the Year has always been Karl Marx.
I hope its Kaepernick and let me explain why. Future generations will inspect and investigate why he was chosen. Then the massive level of MSM and Swamp fraud of this time frame will be reiterated to those future generations. These mortal sins need to be shouted into the future to span space and time.
Judge (and soon to be Senator) Roy Moore! Who over came the odds to be elected.
Or Rocketman Kim of North Korea! (hey they had Hitler once!)
I think it should be the World’s Greatest Living Human: Placido Domingo.
If they are being reasonably honest, the only choice is President Trump. Trolling the minds of liberals, GOPe, and the media, he is taking them all.
TIME has gotten so small and thin, that it isn’t even good enough to line the parakeet’s cage. Besides parakeet’s are too smart to crap on it! Same for NEWSWEAK!
With the list of accomplishments, including an almost miraculous economic recovery in record time, there’s no other option but President Trump.
Trump!!!
“If they are being reasonably honest, the only choice is President Trump”
I agree, but it will probably be someone or some group of people who have suffered or caused sexual abuse.
Using the magazine’s definition of the person who’s made the most news during the year, my guess is Kim Jong Un. Lobbing rockets over other nations’ territory and threatening nuclear holocaust tends to make news. Not good news but definitely news.
He was elected President, came into office January 20, 2017 and has done more for the United States and the World than the last four Presidents combined.
Given that, we'll see what socialist/Marxist TIME picks. What a joke.
