Alabama Senate President Pro-Tem Del Marsh has a lot of concerns about the thumbprint Washington, DC has left on the race to fill Alabama’s U.S. Senate formerly held by Jeff Sessions.
In an interview with Breitbart News, Marsh, one of the Yellowhammer State’s highest-ranking Republicans, explained how he and other candidates were discouraged from running for the seat. He said that “Washington” was set on Sen. Luther Strange (R-AL), who was appointed to the open seat earlier this year by then-Gov. Robert Bentley (R-AL), being the GOP candidate and ultimately retaining that U.S. Senate seat.
“Washington had determined that Luther was their incumbent,” Marsh said. “I argued that the fact he was appointed by the governor — I did not think the people had voted. And I thought they would be wise to stay out of the race, let people run for the seat and see where it went.”
Marsh went to Washington, DC back in May to explore his options as a candidate. After that visit, he told the Montgomery Advertiser’s Brian Lyman that his conversation with the National Republican Senate Committee did not go well and they said they would “protect” their incumbents.
Marsh told Breitbart that he warned them against forcing Strange’s candidacy on Alabama voters and said things have gone as he had expected with their involvement in this contest.
“They were very honest,” Marsh explained. “They stated they would put whatever money they thought was necessary to make sure Luther won the race. I was very honest and told them I did not think the people of Alabama, regardless of the money they spent, would elect Luther Strange. They chose to go with what they believed instead of what I was trying to tell them.”

The people in Alabama and the leadership are not only seeing through this charade but are actively speaking out about it.
“They attack Judge Moore from Washington, the establishment – all that is doing, in my opinion, is solidifying his base. And quite honestly, as things settle down, I think you’ll see people who perhaps were on the fence also gravitate to Judge Moore versus what they perceive as a liberal Democrat.”

I suspect the old timeline for an October Surprise no longer works. They may have given Judge Moore enough time to recover from this nonsense. It may even be that the media do not have enough credibility left to engage in last minute character assassination, regardless of timing.

While the news was breaking, the Republican’s beat the Democrats to the microphones to call for Roy to get out.
There were red flags everywhere, money changed hands, we learned of a woman offer big money to lie about an attack.
When the desired outcome did not happen immediately, the swamp reached for the bat phone and call Gloria Alred.
“Gloria, it’s Mitch McConnell, you know what to do.”
So Gloria picks someone with acting skills and trains her with chocolates to cry on demand as she recites her lines for the cameras.
Only, every recount of real sexual abuse I’ve watched the women are PISSED, their angry, they want justice, but not Nelson. So faked.
Gloria goes a bridge too far and drops a forged yearbook for which she is about to get royally sued.
This is war! Roy must get elected.

Kyle Whitmire is an effete "columnist" there (though he's married) and he's written with more vitriol against Judge Moore than anyone, with the possible exception of John "I forgot I declared bankruptcy and I've got a gay brother" Archibald.
They hate Judge Moore and they have made it clear that they do.
Their jobs are also dependent on pleasing their editor. Those 3 papers are owned by Advance and they have laid off over 40% of their employees in the past few years and now only print 3 days a week.
So you have lesbains and leftists calling the shots and maybe a couple of people who are afraid to speak out in fear of losing their jobs.
But this is a hate campaign of the highest order.
He has more support than ever.

This must be why conservatives in Alabama bypass the “The Birmingham News” and are going directly to Breitbart News.
Hopefully, the citizens of Alabama are seeing through this charade.

Thank you, Rev Franklin Graham for speaking out on this as well! It is long past time that our Christian/Jewish clergy had their say in our nation. Pastor Warren was such an embarrassment in that faux debate between McCain/BO’B years ago.
