I checked my balance on a credit card a couple of yrs ago..when I called, an automated voice came on and said "I see that your check is in the mail"....

they had to have had access from the USPS...

That’s interesting. We had a bill with a problem yesterday and the bank said, we see that you are sending in the second payment so we will apply it to the first, and the first payment when it arrives will be applied to the second.

So they could see that the mail was coming.
