Roy Moore announces 12 testimonials from women affirming his character

The Roy Moore campaign late Wednesday afternoon released testimonials from 12 women, including Moore's sister-in-law and former receptionist, that speak to the quality of his character.

The statement from the campaign described the women "who are coming forward as character witnesses for Roy Moore."

What follows in the statement are brief testimonials from the women, each one paragraph long.

Many of the statements are from women in Moore's home county of Etowah in northeast Alabama. Gadsden is the largest city in the county and Moore and his wife, Kayla, live in the small town of Gallant in rural Etowah County.

"I have known Roy for over 30 years," said Kandi Kisor Smith, sister of Moore's wife. "I met him in 1984 when he met my sister in church and began dating her. He has always showed honor and dignity. I truly can't even begin to grasp that people would question his character. He has lived by what he preached since the day I met him."

" I was the receptionist for Roy Moore the first time he was Chief Justice and I am proud of our history," said Marianne Rhodes, who was Moore's receptionist from 2000-2003. "I saw everything that went on in that office and I've never worked for anybody who was more considerate, honest, or kind. We all enjoyed our tenure there. He was always up and above board. If any of these people who are slandering the good name of Roy Moore had ever worked with (him), they would know what a fine person he is. My history with Judge Moore was nothing but pleasurable and this is all upsetting to me."

Jennie Klingenbeck of Birmingham said she was a former girlfriend of Moore's.

"I have known Roy Moore for about forty years," she said. "Roy and I briefly dated when I was in my twenties. While I was around Roy, either just the two of us or with other people, he was always a true gentleman treating me with respect and courtesy. I can honestly say that I never have seen or heard any inappropriate remarks or behaviors while he was around me. I believe that Roy lives by his Christian beliefs and is a good man."

Another testimonial came from a woman who said she was 16 when she worked part-time in the same office with Moore. He has been accused of having romantic encounters by five women who said they were teenagers at the time. Two said the encounters included unwanted sexual advances.

Elain Conner Watson, a native of Gadsden, said that she would put her life in his hands if necessary.

"I feel it my duty to say that I have known Roy Moore since I was a kid," Watson said."I worked closely with Roy (adjoining offices) when I was 16 years old. I went to school half a day and worked at the bank half a day. NEVER did he in any way make me feel uncomfortable, flirt, or make advances towards me. He was always a kind and respectable man. We are still friends to this day and I would put my life in his hands if need be. There is no way that these statements these people are making are true. Someone is getting some hefty perks coming from the lies that are being told. I appreciate and respect everything that Roy has done for our state and citizens."

Here are the other statements provided to the Moore campaign by the women:

Jaime Moses, native of Gadsden: "I worked at Uncle Sam's BBQ (closed now) for 10 years while in my 20's and waited on Roy Moore and his family. Mr. Moore and his wife were nothing but friendly and respectful. The children were the same, which is a sign of great parenting. He knew many people dining there and spoke and shook hands with everyone. Not once did he make me feel uncomfortable. Working in the food industry can be hard sometimes and Mr. Moore's kindness to myself and staff did not go unnoticed."

Sharon Lamkin: ""My first remembrance of Roy Moore was grammar school. He was probably in Jr High school but all of us Gallant kids rode the same bus. He was always a gentle, kind boy and grew into an even more admirable man. He was my softball coach in my high school days and was always such a kind person, never a mean or hateful word to any of us. Only kindness and utmost respect! Have been friends with all of his family for many, many years. NEVER heard ANY mention of any such behavior in all these years. Have seen him at the local church several times with his knees bowed in prayer at the altar. Takes time to listen to people. Just a wonderful, Christian man in a small rural community. Devoted to family, friends and most of all God. Proud to know him and will continue to support him with our presence and prayers."

Amanda Pearce of Gadsden: "I have known Roy Moore and his family for over thirty years. I spent a great deal of time as a child with his nieces, who lived in close proximity to Mr. Moore's residence. There was never a time I felt uncomfortable or witnessed any inappropriate behavior by him . We have attended the same church for over twenty years and I have always had the utmost respect for the life he leads and the principles he stands for."

Doris Mason of Attalla, which is in Etowah County: "I have known Roy Moore for over 50 years. I first met him when I started dating his first cousin, Dennis Mason. Dennis and I married in 1965, eventually had 4 children (3 of whom are girls) and we frequently visited his childhood home prior to our marriage. Roy has been nothing short of a true gentleman toward me, my daughters, and anyone else I have witnessed his interaction with. He spent many evenings in our home around our dinner table. Roy has spent time with all of our children at length and he has always displayed integrity, honesty and impeccable character. It is my belief that the accusations against Roy are completely false! Do I believe that Roy is perfect? Certainly not. No human is. What I do know is that he is a man that I trust and offer my utmost respect to because he has never been anything but respectful towards me and my family!"

Brenda Parrish of Gallant: "I have known Roy Moore for 25 years. Roy has always been a kind, caring and generous Man of God. I have never heard anything bad said about Roy. He is a wonderful spiritual leader to his family and has exceptional character."

Angie Johnson of Gadsden: "We have known Roy Moore and his family for more than 25 years. His son was coached on a ball team by my husband ...a team player alongside my son. Roy also helped with coaching the team. My husband and I have been guests in his home, in his office in Gadsden as well as Montgomery. I am acquaintances with several members of Roy's family. I have never known Roy to exhibit anything other than appropriate behavior during our times together. Further I was raised and lived in Gadsden all of my 50+ years and I have never been aware of any of the incidents that have been spoken of about Roy. I worked in a fast food establishment that Roy frequented during the time period in question. Again ...no behavior exhibited other than respect and mannerful...during that time Roy had written and recorded a 45 record which he brought over and gifted to my mother. I do not understand waiting years and years to make accusations unless there are political or monetary gains to be made. It is a sad day when someone can take a person's character and attempt to discredit them by making accusations that cannot be proven. How quick everyone is to take the position of judge, juror, and executioner. What if the shoe was on the other foot. I would never condone sexual harassment against anyone if proven."

Linda Whitt of Duck Springs, which is in Etowah County: "I had the pleasure of meeting Roy Moore around 15 years ago. He is related to my husband's brother-in-law. I have never known Roy to be anything other than a gentleman. With that being said, it saddens me that there are those who seek to tarnish the reputation of a good man."

Jennifer Price of Gallant: ""I have known Roy Moore all my life. He is one of the most godly men I've even known. I would trust him with my life and I could call on him for anything and I know he'd be there. He's a wonderful husband, father and granddaddy and loves his family dearly."

If only Moore had limited himself to circulating through the bath-houses of Chicago.

I know of one guy who high school girls say was not interested in women.

Perhaps the right should dumpster dive on that fella.

Nah, Moore is a heterosexual male. He was interested in women. He actually dated them.

By all accounts but one I’ve seen so far, he participated in activity that included petting and accepting limits when the women laid them down.

In my early 30s I once purchased some shoes at a mall shoe store. The young woman that waited on me was cute.

I had nearly left the store when I thought, what the heck. I went back and asked her if she would like to go out to dinner with me after she was off. She said yes.

We had a nice dinner in Westwood, California at Chuck’s Steakhouse. Alan Alda and his wife were eating at the next table, about three feet from ours.

Yes folks, it was an unwanted approach. She hadn’t told me I had permission before I asked.

It’s called dating. Evidently globalists don’t get around much.

The Birmingham News has been on a rampage against Judge Roy Moore for many years, especially since their alleged lesbian editor took over as the main editor for the 3 largest newspapers in the state of Alabama and Judge Moore came out against sodomite marriage.

Kyle Whitmire is an effete "columnist" there (though he's married, he's still a wuss) and he's written with more vitriol against Judge Moore than anyone, with the possible exception of John "I forgot I declared bankruptcy and I've got a gay brother" Archibald.

They hate Judge Moore and they have made it clear that they do.

abc

One is simply not allowed to be a Christian or speak in churches in Alabama by the bigots at the Birmingham News.

That's the real story, that the lesbians and leftists are trashing Judge Moore because of his stand for traditional marriage.

That's why this fight matters.

I don't believe any of these women at all, at all. What confirmed it to me was this fraud Beverly Young Nelson claiming she is 56. There is NO damn way that woman is 56. I'm 55, I know what 56 looks like, my sister and wife are 53 and they agree with me, this Beverly Young Nelson is in her mid 60s at least, I'm guessing in her 70s. So if she is lying about her age like that, her credibility is ZIP and what that means is this is all a setup. Look at Gloria Allred who is 76 and compare her face to this Beverly Young Nelson. They look exactly the same age. This woman is LIAR.

And BTW, in every yearbook I ever seen the students are in alphabetical order, and why do these photos look like they are pasted on?

If the Moore saga doesn’t show us how powerful the media actually still is, nothing will. It’s the same playbook that they use against President Trump. There are a lot of stupid people out there that will believe the media and believe whatever they are spoon feed by Hollyweird, Silicon Valley and the MSM. We have to figure out a way to utterly destroy the stranglehold that these people have on the country.

Yes, Rush has been mentioning that daily. What a hoot.

Globalists have go back 38 years to find dirt on Moore. It amounts to little more than dating.

While there are some questionable things mentioned, the tails seem to have some fiction included. That’s not a very good thing when you want folks to believe you.

This is great! I hope Roy Moore keeps them coming. And these ladies should get together, email or fax the pages of testimonial to various news organizations who have published the bad stuff and then call them - one by one, saying "Hey, we're women saying something about Judge Roy Moore. Are you going publish one side only or our side as well?" Then call local radio stations the next day and be interviewed explaining how they refused to publish.

They should also call the offices of McConnell and his band of RINO idiots demanding to speak to the Senators. Fax those testimonials over and confirm they've received them.

There is a reason for statute of limitations. It is almost impossible to prove/disprove an allegation from 40 years ago.

It’s always impossible to prove a negative, unless you can nail down an alibi.

At 40 years later, it’s a joke for a guy to have to answer to certain things. None the less, I don’t want to deny any woman her chance at justice. Here the level of the things they are charging are so minimal and unproven, that it’s good the SoL has run.

Even a suspect should have a fair shot at a reasonable process. 40 years later? No.

If it’s rape, I don’t care how long it has been, as long as it can be proven.

Agreed, she looks much older than 56. Those yearbook photos definitely look like they could be pasted on. Every yearbook I’ve seen has several rows of photos, in alphabetical order, and without other photos in the background.

Therein lies the problem. Even rapes committed recently are hard to prove/disprove, crimes from 40 years ago are that much harder. It often comes down to a he said/she said type of thing even if it happened last month. I have a couple of friends who spent months in jail after being accused of rape. The woman recanted before the trial but the experience ended up negatively impacting both of their lives. As terrible as rape is, falsely accusing somebody of it is even worse in my view.

It has long been my opinion, that if a woman is found to have lied, she should serve the same sentence the man she accused would have had to serve if he had been found guilty.

Further, if he can demonstrate a loss of respect and income, she should be exposed to a civil suit of substantial cost to her, restoring his normal expected earnings that he lost out on.

That’s pretty hard to quantify, because who knows what promotions he may have lost out on, because he was passed over due to the hanging charges.

Having character witnesses does not mean he is innocent of the alleged inappropriate behavior.
