The House Intelligence Committee “learned a great deal” during Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson’s testimony Tuesday about the anti-Trump dossier, California Rep. Adam Schiff said Tuesday night.
Simpson testified behind closed doors as part of the House committee’s investigation into Russian interference in the presidential campaign.
Schiff, the top Democrat on the committee, provided no additional commentary on Simpson’s interview. Simpson’s lawyer, Joshua Levy, provided a statement and answered a few questions from reporters.
Levy took a jab at the White House and “its political allies,” who he said “have attempted at every turn to smear Fusion GPS because of its connection to the Steele dossier.”
Levy also said that it “up to the committee” whether to release a transcript of Simpson’s testimony.
The lawyer addressed some of the questions that Simpson likely faced during the hearing.
According to Fox News producer Jason Donner, Levy denied that Simpson, a former Wall Street Journal reporter, wrote parts of the dossier.

Fusion GPS was paid more than $1 million by the Clinton campaign and DNC for its work on the Trump dossier project. Fusion paid Steele, who is based in London, just $168,000.
Levy also maintained that Simpson was unaware of the infamous June 9, 2016 Trump Tower meeting until it was reported by The New York Times earlier this year. Simpson was with Natalia Veselnitskaya, one of the meeting attendees, before and after her Trump Tower visit.
Simpson and Veselnitskaya worked together on a pro-Kremlin lobbying project that was unrelated to the dossier.
Levy also denied that Simpson knew that Veselnitskaya took research that he provided her for that project into the Trump Tower meeting.
Asked whether Simpson and Steele have been in touch, Levy told reporters that “they talk from time to time.”

Saw Trey Gowdy on FOX talking about testimony - Bill Hemmer asked him if Simpson believed the info in the dossier was true. Gowdy said he didn’t care if Simpson believed it was true or not - he wanted to know if the FBI used it to obtain FISA warrants. Hemmer asked him if he knew the answer to that & Gowdy said he did. Hemmer said “share?” Gowdy told him he’d end up in stripes if he did.
My take, the way Gowdy looked, was that the FBI did use it. Again, just my gut reaction. Kind of goes along with your ‘very interesting for 3 reasons’ regarding Schiff.
Trouble is headed to his side in a big way.
Sounds like it was also a really bad day for James Comey, the FBI and the 0bama administration.
I’d say they did use it, too.
The Demorats will simply say that the dossier is true and revealed facts and Simpson was just pulling facts together and Whores in moscow peed in the bed. This is the same crap that is done to the great Roy Moore and mindless sheeple believe it and just keep grazing. like Hannity.

So to summarize, the Hillary campaign paid $1M to a CIA front-group, Fusion GPS, which subcontracted to a retired MI-6 agent to fabricate a dossier on Clinton’s political opponent. This fake intel was then couriered by someone from John McCain’s office to Comey, the then head of the FBI, who used the fake document to obtain a FISA warrant to bug the Trump campaign.
This all makes Watergate look like a Methodist picnic.
And a good chunk of that Clinton/GPS money went directly into the pockets of "Russian" sources who took the money and then fabricated incidents that Steele used to spice up the dossier.
Schiff is a POS who has perfected the art of innuendo and implication to try to keep alive something for which he has no real facts. He is a typical slimy democrat.

Correct...but the real question is, who is going to go after the FBI, CIA, and DNC? The way Sessions spoke this morning, you would think that there is nothing substantial to investigate!?!? My thought was, “Crap! They got something on Sessions like they had on Justice Roberts...” Trey Gowdy has proven that he has no power whatsoever...
I have no hopes for anything from Schiff the dodgeful arter, but I wonder if anyone on the committee asked useful questions. If Simpson did not write any of dossier, specifically what did FUSION GPS do to “earn” the difference in $168,000 and the one million plus they took in? Was any of that paid to third parties? Who and how much? Internal salaries? Who precisely? With whom did Fusion GPS discus their “opposition research” and the dossier 9comprehensive list followed by timing and content? Ever discuss it with DNC personnel? Hillary campaign personnel? Hillary? Bill? Anyone in the employ of the US government? Anyone Russian? Others?

Jay Sekulow last night was saying that the FBI, colluding with one party to go after the opposition party, was (can’t remember the wording he used but this is the essence of it) really terrible and a breakdown of our system of government.

I think this was the unsaid message to Trump when they showed him the fabricated “Russian” dossier. I’m betting the FBI/CIA though they would show him the document, and without saying anything, the message would be, “Look what we have on you. Be a real shame if this leaked out to the press”. But Trump goes and blows their blackmail attempt by talking about it.

Usually I read about testimony behind “closed doors” and it tells me nothing is ever going to come of the “investigation”.
