WASHINGTON A new poll of Alabama voters shows Roy Moores support is waning after bombshell allegations he molested a 14-year-old girl in 1979.
Democrat Doug Jones now leads Moore by 4 percentage points in the special election race for U.S. Senate 46% to 42%, with 9% undecided, according to a JMC Analytics and Polling survey.
Thats a significant swing from October, when Moore had a 48%-40% lead in the same survey.
The Washington Post published a story Thursday about four women who said Moore sought a sexual or romantic relationship with them when they were teenagers and he was in his 30s. One woman, Leigh Corfman, said she was 14 when a 32-year-old Moore took her to his home, undressed her and took of his clothes. Moore touched her over her bra and underpants and guided her hand to touch him over his underwear.
Moore has denied any sexual misconduct with minors and refused to drop out of the race despite mounting pressure from members of his party. He dismissed the womens allegations as fake news.
Roy Moore has in the last month seen the race move against him, the JMC Analytics polling summary concluded.
The automated telephone survey of 575 likely voters was conducted Nov. 9 to Nov. 11.
Given the allegations against Moore, 38 percent of voters said they are less likely to support him , 29 percent said it makes them more likely to support Moore, while 33 percent said it made no difference.
Three previous flash polls out since the sexual molestation allegations showed a tightening race between Jones and Moore, but not a Democrat lead in the deeply red state.

Moore was ahead 48% to 46% in a Big League-Gravis poll of 478 likely voters conducted Nov. 10.
Moores lead was even larger 44%-40% in a Change Research poll conducted Nov. 9 to 11.
McCain can’t wait to join the Democrats and Impeach Trump
That was five days ago. The weekend has enabled a “vetting” of both stories and response.
After the way the ‘rats defended President Clinton, all accusations of sexual impropriety against Republicans are irrelevant.
They set the rules, let them live by them.
Took me a while to find it, but the poll’s methodology is a crock.
This is literally the only poll claiming a Doug Jones lead right now. It's also days old now.
Yeah it’s old.
Be interesting to see polls after this week.
I don’t think this smear will work to defeat him.
But it will work to get RINOs and conservatives fighting with each other! Which is good for the Democrats.
They truly don’t care what moore did or not to who.....all they want is their guy out in front to win.
Unspoken rule of thumb among politicians....” don’t take it personally”.
Yep, the "do your own thing" hippies of the 60's now become the moral arbitrators?
LOL!...get bent!(pun intended)
Can’t really understand why Alabama is having this special election in December. Seems totally unnecessary to me.
Luther Strange was doing a perfectly fine job and should have been able to serve out the remainder of Sessions’ term until next November. Strange would have had time to demonstrate his conservative bona fides and launch a bid for a full term in his own right.
Why the rush to hold this election in the first place???
If Gloria can find 1 more rapee, Jones wins in a landslide.
All those polls were before or at the very beginning of the big blowup. But while I’m sure Moore’s numbers have taken a hit, I still question whether he’s really behind.
And that was the goal. The Dems don’t care anymore if the reports are true or not. All they care about is the character assassination. For example ... remember the whole “Mitt didn’t pay his taxes” crap? Yeah, they admitted that it wasn’t based on facts and said “Well, it worked, didn’t it?”
Typical dirty politics by the Dems.
It’s jmc polling over and over posted here daily
Polls are tools to manipulate public opinion and influence voting.
Repeat until learned.
If the folks in Alabama are smart they should vote for him anyway, then let the state GOP pull their support and nullify the election. They can get a Mulligan.
Unless white Alabamans sit home in droves
A dem can’t win
Aside from one folksy governor no democrat has won statewide in Alabama in a significant race since Shelby was a Democrat
25 or 26 years
uhh... its the law??
How The Plan Became Policy
In the Beginning was the Plan
And then came the Assumptions
And the Assumptions were without form
And The Plan was completely without substance
And the darkness was upon the face of the Workers
and they spoke among themselves, saying
“It is a crock of sh*t, and it stinketh.”
And the Workers went unto their Supervisors and sayeth
“It is a pail of dung and none may abide by the odor thereof.”
And the Supervisors went unto their Managers and sayeth unto them,
“It is a container of excrement and it is very strong,
Such that none may abide by it.”
And the Managers went unto their Directors and sayeth,
“It is a vessel of fertilizer, and none may abide by its strength.”
And the Directors spoke among themselves, saying one to another,
“It contains that which aids plant growth, and it is very strong.”
And the Directors went unto the Vice Presidents and sayeth unto them,
“It promotes growth and is very powerful.”
And the Vice Presidents went unto the President and sayeth unto him,
“This new plan will actively promote the growth and efficiency of
this Company, and these Areas in particular.”
And the President looked upon The Plan,
And saw it was good, and The Plan became Policy.
This is How Sh*t Happens.
ROTF! Amen, brother!
