Mnangagwa trumps Mugabe? His name will be more fun to say at least.
The Army says there is no coup, but rather military operation underway to target criminal elements in the vicinity of the country’s President, and to end the country’s suffering.
The spokesman said that Mugabe and his family are safe.

Military seized a TV station and broadcast a "we're in charge now" speech, but that later got yanked from the airwaves.
Confusion is probably the theme for the time being.

What are you complaining about...you’ve got the paradise you prefer in Zimbabwe now. The fate of Zimbabwe is in the hands of its residents now as it has been for many years. Its fate is certainly NOT in the hands of its former residents who have fled the country or been murdered. And its current condition is owed to its CURRENT residents, not its FORMER residents.

Are you forgetting that many of the soldiers fighting Mugabe’s communists were black, and that the short-lived country of “Zimbabwe Rhodesia” DID include representation for blacks?
My town lost one of the dozen or so Americans who died fighting for Rhodesia; he (and others) thought they were fighting communism, not blacks (they served with blacks).
Red China has a tiny number of people ruling over a BILLION people; where there’s a will, there’s a way.
Before you lay the blame squarely on the white
Rhodesians, remember it was the British government that originally encouraged people to settle there. Decades later, when they decide to abandon them, they expect no resistance? Like the Portuguese in Angola and Mozambique, those whites had nothing outside of Africa; they were born there, and were completely invested there. If the British government had really compensated them for their property/investments in Rhodesia, there probably could have been a peaceful resolution. When the Portuguese returned from Africa to Portugal, it ruined the Portuguese economy for years.
Would it be too much to ask to see Robert Mugabe swinging from a rope at the end of this mess?

Like I said, you guys seem to have some weird idea that you have to see either of these sides as good guys.
Nope. They were both arrogant, and ultimately neither gave a damn about the place besides their desire to rule over people like, with as little say so from them as they could get away with.
Like I care if anyone here is impressed.

That is how the Rhodesian government was doing it; no relationship to out situation here. You made it sound impossible/impractical - but Rhodesia also saw it work in Red China.
Not a “fanboy” of anything, old chap. Simply stating a few facts.
Could things have been handled better by the white minority? No question.
Were the vast majority better off under the white government? Also, no question.
Apparently you’d rather have the situation of today than a well fed population with a functioning infrastructure. We’ve seen how well the “native” population runs their affairs. And it ain’t pretty.
Truth be told I don’t really give a rip one way or the other. Let them go Rwanda on each other for all I care. They’ve gotten the government they
wanted and now they’re getting it good and hard.
And Africa wins again.
