Franklin pastor says he was not asked to be included on Roy Moore letter

A Middle Tennessee pastor named in a letter in support of Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore told News 4 he was never asked to sign the letter and didn’t hear about it until Monday. Moore’s wife Kayla posted the letter to Facebook on Sunday. It features the names of more than 50 pastors. Dr. George Grant is the head of Parish Presbyterian Church in Franklin. He said he did not give permission for his name to be on this list. Grant told News 4 he hasn’t spoken to Moore in a decade. Grant added he hasn’t spoken to Moore’s campaign since it started. Grant also said he is not concerned with the politics in Alabama, saying, “Not my state. Not my issues.” Moore is accused of having sexual contact with a 14-year-old nearly four decades ago when he was 32 years old.

The way I read this is Pastor Grant and some other pastors endorsed Roy Moore during his Senate run, but have run away from that endorsement during Moore’s need for solidarity and support.

Grant could have easily said ‘I once signed a letter of support, but now I’m not sure’......or...’ I signed an endorsement when he was running.....and I stand with this guy’

And yes, I am well aware of Grant....I belong to the same denomination, PCA Presbyterian
....I know all the lexicon of names.....RC Sproul......Francis Schaffer......etc

I’m just disappointed ....bigtime.....that this pastor has been added to the list of weasel words used by GOPe, MSM etc.....to bring this man down

‘Not my state, not my issue’......indeed!

George Grant I truly hope some bimbo doesn’t use you as an opportunity to bring you down......and folks who you thought you could count on....dessert you!

I’m kind of catching up on reading that other link I posted, apparently the list circulated appears to be a copied and pasted list from an earlier August endorsement without checking to see if they still endorsed Moore or something along that line.

Exactly!......funny huh that Moore’s wife thought these pastors had more integrity !
Endorsing him waaaaay back in August......oh wait, that was ONLY 3 months ago.

George Grant and how many others conveniently forgetting that now

Do you live in Alabama?
Tennessee?
Georgia?

This is not just an Alabama thing!

They changed the wording of the letter and added 3 sentences. Doesn’t seem very Christian to try a ploy like that

"My gut feeling is before we can have a draining of the political swamp in United States we will have to have a draining of the Religious right in the United States."

I believe in and worship the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal savior, yet I have little to do with folks who wrap themselves in the Bible as a means to power and wealth. Your comment will hit some nerves, but I feel it is correct.

Tennessee it’s more our cousins that we date, but we do wait ‘til they’ve reached puberty.
