A Middle Tennessee pastor named in a letter in support of Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore told News 4 he was never asked to sign the letter and didnt hear about it until Monday. Moores wife Kayla posted the letter to Facebook on Sunday. It features the names of more than 50 pastors. Dr. George Grant is the head of Parish Presbyterian Church in Franklin. He said he did not give permission for his name to be on this list. Grant told News 4 he hasnt spoken to Moore in a decade. Grant added he hasnt spoken to Moores campaign since it started. Grant also said he is not concerned with the politics in Alabama, saying, Not my state. Not my issues. Moore is accused of having sexual contact with a 14-year-old nearly four decades ago when he was 32 years old.
Not good.
‘Not my state, not my issue’
Sad state of religious solidarity if this pastor is not humble enough....wise enough....discerning enough to realize TOMORROW it could be his state, his issue
Stay calm.
Whoops.
I’ve been pretty much staying out of most Political stuff as far as taking sides other then if I take sides I would be taking sides on the Conservative Republican side of things, having said that I think it to be concerning that a conservative organization has to lie (inserting individuals name on list) to make the list look really important and make it look valid. It makes one wonder how many people on the list of pastors actually sign the letter/list or gave there permission for their names to be on the list. My gut feeling is before we can have a draining of the political swamp in United States we will have to have a draining of the Religious right in the United States.
This issue I’m concern with in this issue is not whether Dr. George Grant is concerned or not concerned with the Roy Moore issue but that his name was put on the letter/list without his permission.
The letter doesnt list his town or state.
So you think it was another pastor George grant of a different parish presbbertian church?
Check the flow of money or threats.
It is possible there is more than one. Have you ever done any genealogy?
I I might believe it if they didn’t mention the church. There’s only one parish Presbyterian church that I can find
I see one in Parish NY and another in Chester WV. The letter doesnt say pastor. It says Dr. George Grant. Could be any parishioner who got a degree.
The letter says pastor George grant.
Apparently they reworked and reposted a letter from August that had the 50 pastors names. There are at least a couple of other pastors that have asked to be removed.
Dr. George Grant is a pastor of a Presbyterian PCA Church in Franklin, Tennessee, I don’t know the name of the church off the top of my head. He is pastor of one of the conservative Presbyterian denominations, not the liberal heretical Presbyterian USA denomination.
Ok, I agree that makes it harder to find another Dr. George Grant that fits the facts.
Thanks for posting this information.
LOL
Really, I do think this is more of an “Alabama thing”
how many of the 50 will likewise turn out to have had their signatures included without their permission?
