“I’ve been a political junkie for decades... I never tire of it. It’s actually hard for me to understand how he could be burned out from politics at this point.”

For many of us politics is what fascinates us.

We couldn’t wait to vote. We volunteer on campaigns. We donate money to our candidates. We follow politics like most follow sports.

Let’s look at Rush’s known history. He didn’t register to vote until 1988 when he was 37. He says that he has never donated to a candidate. If he ever volunteered on a campaign he has never spoken of it, and no one has written about rubbing shoulders with Rush while stuffing envelopes.

Rush’s loves are/were football, golf, cigars, radio and being financially successful. I don’t doubt that his political opinions are genuine, I just don’t think that he would be doing anything about them if he hadn’t found financial success by voicing them on the air.

Excellent post in #21 re: Rush Limbaugh.

I actually didn't know that Rush didn't register to vote until he was 37 (!). I couldn't wait to vote. I registered on my 18th birthday, and took it very seriously.

Of course I stupidly voted for a bunch of liberals right out of the gate. But once Ronald Reagan was in the White House, I saw the light. ;-)
