Naked, barking people rampage through a stunned small town, police say

Last weekend got downright bizarre in the eastern Missouri town of Sullivan, and police say they know why.

Four people went on a rampage, barking and yelling, breaking into buildings, even stripping off their clothes and showering in soda water, police say. They suspect the synthetic drug flakka is behind the behavior.

“We had multiple incidents this past weekend of people on some kind of substance acting out of their minds,” Sullivan Police Lt. Patrick Johnson told the Sullivan Independent News. “Barking like dogs, running up and down the street, or other farm animals, entering people’s homes, breaking into a business, yelling outside of local businesses.”

Two people were arrested, and some of the users were treated at a hospital.

The drugs have not yet been tested, but police believe the users mixed methamphetamine with flakka, a manmade drug that has caused strange behavior in other places.

Last year, The Star reported that flakka was hitting hard in Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and other parts of the country and that police were worried that it would spread to Missouri and Kansas City. It was causing a rash of emergency room visits and overdose deaths.

In one highly publicized Florida case, a man reportedly high on flakka gnawed on and disfigured another man’s face before he was shot to death by police. Another user tried to break down the door of a police station in Fort Lauderdale, and a few weeks later, a man impaled himself while trying to climb a fence around the same station.

Also known as alpha-PVP, flakka has a similar chemical makeup to other drugs commonly known as “bath salts,” according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

It typically comes in a white or pink crystalline form and is foul-smelling.

I saw a three hundred pound guy get hit 10 time with 9mm and still kept going at the cops. Bleeding out is the only thing that stopped him. Angel Dust. That was decades ago.

People used to yell and holler alot when they were on Flicka.

Even more so over U.S. Naval flakka.

Just some D’s that got lost in real America. If they’d stayed in New York, Boston, Chicago, or Californication they’d have still fit right in - and there’d been no news story

This type behavior from otherwise normal people is what I observed when people are possessed by a demon.

I’ve observed it several times with alcohol, but never drugs.

Some of the new synthetic drugs are many times more powerful than the old drugs. I’ve listened to ER physicians and psychiatrists lecture on case studies where one first time use of the synthetic drug caused a psychotic break that lasted for life. This is especially true of the synthetic THC as it is seven times more powerful than the old THC in pot.

Are you talking about ayahuasca?

It’s dangerous for some no?

LSD

Psilocybin

Peyote and mescaline

My experience esrlynto mid 70s

Scores of trips

I was wary of jungle meds

I found peyote the best

There is such a thing as synthetic THC?

I have never heard of that.

This bath salts stuff is definitely NOT synthetic THC.

It’s my understanding that actual THC is very inexpensive to create. Grows like a weed, I’m told.

“This is especially true of the synthetic THC as it is seven times more powerful than the old THC in pot.”

I only found 1 reference of a death due solely to synthetic THC. Citing a link to the fbi.com home page cleverly hid this fact. I have personally tried the DNA-modified Sativa strains available at 91%+ THC and seemed to have kept my composure. But I would not recommend it to a novice THC imbiber. And I wake up remarkably clear-headed at 3 - 4 am the next day.

Synthetic THC such as JWH-18 is often produced in China and distributed all over the world. Synthetic THC is seven times stronger than the THC in weed and can be mixed with or sprayed on almost anything. It was not even illegal until 2011 and is the ingredient in bath salts....

Oh, when I read the headline, my first thought was it was grieving UGA fans after that one sided loss on Saturday.
