Probably the vast majority of patrol officers are 2A supporters, and might decide that they won’t offer the Liberals any help.

As satisfying as the thought of mowing down leftist traitors sounds, it wont happen that way.

Like tobacco (which is still 100% legal BTW) they will demonize, restrict, and tax incrementally into extinction.

I agree. If there is ever an unconstitutional effort to disarm Americans that is effectively declaration of war on the citizenry and an assault on the God-given rights of Americans to keep and bear arms which is acknowledged and codified in the 2nd Amendment. If they do this no liberal politician or any government employee that enforces it will be safe anywhere on this planet of Earth as Americans will hunt them down.

The prime targets won’t (and should not) be those following orders but those issuing the orders. Give the decision makers reason to make some new decisions.
