Leigh Corfman, who says she was 14 years old when then 32 year-old assistant district attorney Roy Moore initiated a sexual encounter with her, has a troubled past of her own that could very well speak to her credibility as an accuser.
Especially as she decided to make the accusation 39 years after the alleged incident and days before a crucial Senate campaign.
Author and Newsmax columnist James Hirsen put it this way: “Purportedly Moore’s main accuser Leigh Corfman has had three divorces, filed for bankruptcy three times, and has been charged with multiple misdemeanors. Posts on Moore’s FB page indicate that Corfman, has claimed several pastors at various churches made sexual advances at her.”

Posts on Moore's FB page indicate that Corfman, has claimed several pastors at various churches made sexual advances at her.
According to the original Washington Post column that started it all: “While living in Arizona, she and her second husband started a screen-printing business that fell into debt. They filed for bankruptcy protection three times, once in 1991 with $139,689 in unpaid claims brought by the Internal Revenue Service and other creditors, according to court records.”
The Post also listed one of Corfman’s misdemeanour charges, eventually dismissed, “for selling beer to a minor.”
If Corfman also accused several church pastors of making sexual advances toward her, some people might start noticing a pattern, and rightly so. While most women who make accusations of sexual assault are undoubtedly telling the truth, the timing and politics of this in itself strains credulity, and Corfman’s checkered past only adds to the puzzle.
Corfman herself downplayed her credibility issues by saying, “There is no one here that doesn’t know that I’m no angel.”
Fair enough, but the timing of all this is what has the critics rightly ruffled. Even if true and even if Corfman is completely sincere, why not make the accusations during Moore’s primary campaign against Luther Strange, especially if Corfman is a Republican and a Trump voter as she claims?

The Washington Post failed to disclose that one of Moore's accusers was a sign language interpreter for Joe Biden and is a volunteer for Moore's Democrat opponent. 11:06 AM - Nov 10, 2017
BTW, according to another site, Corfman may be lying about her age. It's claimed that she was at least 17 and not 14 when the incident is alleged to have occurred.
But this article raises two good points:

So she has a history of making these kinds of allegations. That diminishes the credibility of each one she makes. It reminds me of Anita Hill, who made a sexual harassment allegation against a prior employer before working for Clarence Thomas.
And if Corfman is a Republican as she says, and if she is sincere in her allegation, then why not raise this before the primary? Why wait until now?
BTW -- does anyone have any dirt on Doug Jones? If so, let's get it out there.

I’ve been reading this for a couple of days now. If true it totally discredits her. It should be easy to confirm. How come we are not getting conformation of this?
I have compassion and sympathy for the victims.
I have none for the Senate GOP leadership exploiting them for political gain in seeking to destroy a candidate they don’t like.
If Moore is forced out of the race, we know two things: people don’t like men with checkered pasts and they still don’t like Washington insiders.
If they get rid of Moore, their problems won’t end. People just loathe their politics.
Good to see reputable source followups that helps disburse the Judge Moore lynch mob. Actually even he had done most the stuff he’s been accused of he would still be legal because these accusers were considered of consenting age. Even the 14 year old which at that time was 12.
For that to be ignored by the media reporting of this and present his encounters because of their ages as legally questionable resulting in protestors accusing Moore of being a pedophile which was I believe the intention of doing so.

This should be taken to court. If Judge Moore agreed, would it be legal for a fund to be set up to pay for the court costs to thoroughly investigate this woman’s claims? People in Alabama surely know who she is by now. Where I grew up, we knew people and their character. Until these potentially false charges, everyone knew Judge Moore’s character and elected him to high office over and over again. And, if payment was made to the accusers, let’s let the court decide what kind of punishment is proper for that kind of fraud. There are ways to fight back on this kind of corruption where it exists and it is time to do more than just talk to one another about it.

I keep mentioning the other one has a lawyer right from the beginning so she doesn’t have to say anything herself, and the lawyer keeps attacking Moore for all 4 women, especially Corfman who he doesn’t represent.
That’s my thought...if Moore=D these accusers would have been trashed and beaten down pretty quick...by the ENTIRE organization.

As someone who was once a 14-year-old girl, knew lots of other fourteen-year-old girls and later in life observed the 14-year-old daughters of friends:
Besides lacking judgement and experience, girls this age who have passed puberty, briefly and erroneously think the possession of secondary sexual characteristics gives them power over men. They frequently and ineptly attempt to wield this fantasy power by flirting to get their own way or satisfy their own temporarily inflated egos.
When their illusions fall, after they are used and dumped or exploited and demeaned a time or two, they transfer their practice of wiles to boys closer in age. Of course, these boys also have similar fantasies and tend to mature, after a a year or two.
Any mature male involved with girls this age is literally playing with fire that will come back to burn them, but they are not pedophiles. The girls do not present as children. Instead, they purposely present as mature women.
The law changes as to ‘age of consent’, as do societal mores. One look at the photo being offered as proof of the accuser’s childhood status puts the lie to it. She wears makeup, tight clothing and knows she’s capable of effecting males. She is not in pigtails and a pinafore.
Given the context and accepting for the case of argument that the described encounter took place, Moore exhibited poor judgement and let his little head do the thinking, but he was never exhibiting an attraction to children.
I believe it is another woman Gloria Deason who now lives in NC who is registered as Republican. Not to say she ever voted that way.
