Now there’s an interesting idea. Will the cops, like Santa Claus, make it to every home in one night?

"Who will guard the homes of the gestapo kicking down doors?"

"That’s right."

They never seem to understand that their actions will have Unintended Consequences.

Yep. Their families will pay the price of treason too.

“Outright confiscation just isn’t going to happen, which is why the Left is eliminating guns through attrition, through the ballot box, and through demographics.”

That is exactly what is happening.

By denying us easy access to our 2nd amendment right, we are slowly being deprived of that right.

They make it so difficult to purchase, own, and exercise our right; that it just becomes easier to not exercise that right, and then to give it up all together.

It is commonly stated that there are 20,000 gun laws on the books already. These gun laws almost always restrict the exercise of the 2nd amendment.

And then there are the regulations on the manufacture and sale of firearms, also used to restrict the exercise of the 2nd Amendment. One of them being the FFL. Many real life examples exist of the stringent requirements that keep changing for an FFL, along with outright harassment from the BATFE to FFL holders. All of this also causes prices to go up extraordinarily higher than necessary and making it more difficult to exercise our 2nd Amendment right. Prices are also higher due to insurance costs necessary.

Yes, the government is actively trying to limit our right to exercise the 2nd Amendment. Quietly and covertly.

"My friendly, engaging, and generous neighbors are hopelessly anti-gun. They don’t even know about my guns. So what should be done about them in the scenario you illustrated?"

Read the manual: Total Resistance, originally published in German as Der totale Widerstand: Eine Kleinkriegsanleitung für Jedermann ("Total Resistance: A Guerrilla Warfare Manual for Everyone") is a guerilla warfare manual... written in 1957 by the Swiss army officer Hans von Dach to prepare the Swiss population for an occupation of Switzerland by Warsaw Pact forces

Neither collaborators or sympathizers can be allowed to live in your area of operation.

LOL. That technique you suggest will sure win hearts and minds. Good grief.

“According to ABC News, the orders are supported by Sandy Hook Promise, the gun control group to which Tim McGraw donated concert proceeds in July 2015. The firearm confiscation orders are also supported by Michael Bloomberg-funded Everytown for Gun Safety.”

The Sandy Hook Promise. What a joke!

Good point. But that would probably be limited.

The gun grabbers don’t realize that most rank and file law enforcement want good, law abiding armed people on their side. If/when SHTF that will be proven out.

The good man who went after the shooter in Texas is a good example. I have heard not a word about him getting into any trouble but a lot of praise from law enforcement.

Gun grabbers don’t realize that most law enforcement want good armed citizens on their side, especially if/when SHTF.

If SHTF, most LEO’s will be home or congregating in groups protecting their families.

“It just doesn’t make sense to me that this gun confiscation effort would amount to much other than words and threats”.

I agree 100%.

A large scale gun confiscation has never been attempted. What happened at Katrina was nothing.

Katrina is the example that gives me the most hope where this subject is concerned. New Orleans is a comparatively small city, geographically confined between water barriers (which had, at the time, intruded and flooded more than half of the city), and yet despite having National Guard units and volunteer police cars for miles (no exaggeration, I saw it up close), it was a struggle to "secure" the area.

Martial Law may be viable in small areas where the people are frightened and view the action as protective, but on a regional or national scale, where the people are angry and armed? Nope, it's just not sustainable.

Completely unsustainable. It would collapse on many fronts.

Which is why when such laws get passed, the response should be that we form mutual defense groups...better known as ‘well regulated militia’...like it says in the 2A. A neighbor gets surrounded and the community can then go all Bundy Ranch on the SWAT people and their APC!

Can you name one war which we have won while fighting to win hearts and minds?

The most recent census of the U.S. gives a population of 320 million.
The most recent believable poll of gun ownership puts that at 47%.

That makes 150 million gun owners.

"Good point. But that would probably be limited."

They won't be limiting themselves - our love for our children will be used against us.

If this war ever comes about it will be on a scale of our last civil war but it will be fought by people (on both sides) far less "civilized" than those that made up our society back then.

I suppose the other part is to take down the American flag and change the National Anthem to something non-offensive to leftists.

Interesting times are on the horizon. I hope you never have to make a decision in matters like that - or suffer from the results of your decisions.

You would if your own 15 year old at your side is being fired upon by a 10 year old of theirs. The Nazi’s in their last gasps had young boys fighting their enemies as they invaded Germany. It was either shoot a 12 year old or they would shoot you or your fellow soldiers. Sucks but what were they going to do?
