Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore on Saturday again adamantly denied sexual misconduct allegations and promised that "revelations about the motivations" behind the news report of his alleged behavior will come out in a few days.
His Democratic opponent, Doug Jones, meanwhile said Moore needs "to answer to the people of Alabama" about the "very serious allegations."
And the lawyer for a woman who says Moore dated her when she was 18 and he was in his 30s and supplied her with alcohol before she was of legal drinking age responded later Saturday to the candidate's comments. Paula Cobia, lawyer for Gloria Deason, blasted Moore for making what she called "defamatory statements" about "4 brave women."
"He knows full well why these women did not tell what he did to them before this week," Cobia wrote in a statement posted on Facebook on Saturday. "As young teenage girls in the late 1970s in a small, rural southern town, they had no way of knowing their rights, especially against him considering that he was a district attorney at the time."

Out of desperation Doogie said, “Moore needs “to answer to the people of Alabama” about the “very serious allegations...
He did. And Alabama seems to believe him.
He did answer to the people of Alabama. He called you a liar.
Another Gloria Alfred lawyer in the making?
Hey I grew up in the 1970s, and I can attest that the teenage girls I knew were constantly thinking about the wishes of the DA.
I remember some serious allegations being told about the last Pres and the media turned a blind eye to it (I do not know if true or not but was very serious)..........yet media is in a dizzy on this. Politics, they want Moore gone....I just do not know which is worse. The Dems or the GOP as both are piling on. So unless it can be proved without a shadow of a doubt......VOTE Moore!
Because every 3 times divorced, 3 times bankrupt woman who works on multiple DemonicRat campaigns always has the money to hire lawyers (on speed dial too) to speak for them especially when no crime has been committed by or to the woman and there is no expectation of financial gain.
“”Paula Cobia, lawyer for Gloria Deason””
Oh! dear - has Gloria been replaced as the “go to” attorney with these ridiculous allegations? She was so good at it! Well, everyone has their moment in the sun and hopefully, her moment(s) has expired...Now to put a clamp on her daughter’s mouth!
Right-because nobody had paid them to say anything yet.
Accounts are that the supposed fourteen year old has already accused others and the rest don’t matter at all.
So any woman, anywhere, can, forty years after the fact, accuse a man of the vague ‘crime’ of sexual harassment - and a man’s career, reputation and aspirations are suppose to instantly disintegrate into thin air.
Justice Clarence Thomas, Herman Cain, and now this. We should expect these smears as the new normal against Republican opponents who stir up strong emotions amogst the Democrats.
I know of a state where young women were accosted by the Attorney General and one was told she had better put some ice on her bleeding lip.
Who is paying the Lieyer?
I’d like to hear what all of Judge Moore’s accusers in the media and the GOPe think about Prince Charles behavior. Prince Charles dated a teenager when he was in his 30s, and subsequently married her. I don’t recall any outrage from the Washington Post, John McCain, Mitt Romney, or anyone else.
Where is his libel lawsuit???
I wish he and his wife would hurry up.
I don’t live in Alabama but if the WP, and the alphabet networks are against them, Moore is another victim of Fake News.
They never tell that Cobia is a big Democrat donor, though it’s on the FEC site.
Nor that her field is media.
On the one hand, Trump may have had a point in not endorsing him.
On the other hand, they didn’t opt to help Luther Strange win, they are trying to ensure the Democrat wins.
We are in the age of political hack jobs ala Fusion GPS and that lovely ad about a nightmare of a pickup truck sporting a bumpersticker from the opposing candidate trying to run over children. There literally are no more rules. The baldfaced lying has to be factored in as a possibility here.
Gee a DNC lawyer immediately on the case, I thought it was just a newspaper article.
