Thank you for sharing this information. Here I thought Putin was promoting Christianity, when in reality, he wasn’t. Well, maybe he only promotes his Russian Orthodox brand to the exclusion of all others. I have now revised my opinion of him.
It’s a great article. I lived there to see the reality firsthand. There are a lot of genuine Christians there don’t get me wrong, even among the Orthodox...but enough who have their identity too wrapped up in the state for the church to be effective counter to the state politics and apparatus.
