Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) released the following statement today on Roy Moore:
“The allegations against Roy Moore are deeply disturbing and disqualifying. He should immediately step aside and allow the people of Alabama to elect a candidate they can be proud of.”
Relax. Let the voters in Alabama deal with this. I trust their voting instincts.

On the other hand we have an outright, unsolicited suggestion by incumbent Senator Thad Cochran that he apparently engaged in bestiality with farm animals (not one of which, I have on good authority, was over the age of 10 at the time) when he was young and John McCain gave good ol' Thad his strongest endorsement.

Former Senator Barbara Boxer used the same tactic to take out Bruch Hershonson in a close Senate race about 18 years ago. She accused him of visiting porn shops three days before the election. How come these “allegations” against Moore are coming up 40 years after the fact and so close to the runoff election?!! People don’t like Moore because he is conservative and won’t go along with Mitch McConnell.

You know, anyone at all could accuse McCain of pretty much anything 30-40 years ago, and the allegations could be deeply disturbing and disqualifying -— and may even be true. In fact, I wouldn’t be too surprised about any accusation aimed at this self-righteous hypocrite turning out to be true. They say the guilty dog always barks first.
