A video posted by USA Today was criticized by firearm aficionados for its portrayal of the Ruger AR-556, the rifle that was reportedly used by a gunman to kill 26 people at a church in rural Texas.
In the brief video, USA Today identified components of the rifle and attachments that the assault-style rifle can be equipped with, some of them rare and ineffectual, including what appeared to be a belt-driven chainsaw.

I would like to comment on this article ... but I'm too scared to do that after seeing all of these terrible things people can attach to an assault rifle ...!
Let us not forget that any rifle they depict is black, “that’s rayshist”
Criticized by firearm aficionados?
More like firearm aficionados were doubled-over laughing.
I’m currently in the market for a cruise missile rail for my AR.
Saw a video making fun of this story - had a number of other modifications. One of the “modifications” as a cigar with an Old Hill logo on it. LOL!
So, who’s going to be the first one to paint their AR-15 USAToday Blue?
Now THAT would be a cool Christmas gift!!!!
No clarification needed! They’re idiots!
I’ve amped up my red dot sight into a 500-kilowatt laser that can penetrate tank armor.
And I understand there’s a steam catapult attachment that will allow you to launch fighter jets from your picatinny rail. I want one!
Bruce Campbell and Evil Dead sprang to mind.
I think the female gangster had one in various primary and secondary colors. Very Sesame-Street-ish.

“And I understand theres a steam catapult attachment that will allow you to launch fighter jets from your picatinny rail. I want one!”
Go ahead. I’ll just shoot them down with the rail gun mounted on mine.
the article fails to understand that it is the anti-mater bullets that are being sold that are the real problem. one hit from one of theses bullets and we get an anilation of the target. there is no wounding with these bullets there is only a few atoms left of the target,
Ain't gonna happen.
Yeah...amazing...while they were "asking" me to disable mine, it racked up 48 blocks.
I absolutely refuse to disable my adblocker.
I assume that sooner or later, we'll have no alternative, but my hope is that they will at least learn to do away with the truly irritating crap that they put up.
But, probably not, too.
This author was playing way to much “Gears of War”.
I have tried disabling my ad blocker in the past. It lasts less than an hour. Almost every site not only has a lot of ads, but many are video. So I go to read a news article, get blasted with video ads, and my Internet slows to a crawl.
I would be willing to go without an ad blocker if the ads didn’t overwhelm the Internet. But 90% video ads with 10% text news? No thanks.
I like the Corgi attachment too. If you want a less-lethal stop, you can overcome your adversary with cuteness. Urban Police may soon be required to deploy the Corgi before resorting to ordinary bullets.
Or perhaps he thinks "Gears of War" is real? He's waiting for an "emergence hole" to open up near him.
...”belt-driven chainsaw”...?
