IRS commissioner John Koskinen’s last day on the job is Thursday, but he appears to have decided to bestow one final gift on the business community on his way out.
This year, the IRS will strictly enforce the ObamaCare employer mandate for the first time since its inception, the agency confirmed to The Wall Street Journal Opens a New Window. on Tuesday, suddenly handing out penalties to companies with 50 employees or more that fail to provide affordable insurance to full-time employees and dependents. The letters also date back to 2015, which mean companies could be on the hook for years’ worth of financial consequences.
The IRS was supposed to begin enforcing the mandate in 2014, but instead issued the guidance last week. The move comes months after Republicans failed to pass multiple bills to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act and the highly unpopular employer requirement.

This one is the President’s fault. That bastard should have been fired the day after the Inauguration. No one should have trusted him after he lied to Congress about targeting TEA Party groups. But no one did anything to this snake, and he can ruin many small businesses on the way out the door to a cushy retirement on the taxpayers’ dime.
I thought Trump already ordered the IRS to NOT enforce the law.
Koskinen is an Obama political appointee who many Tea Party groups furiously called to be removed. Yet, despite conservative demands and adverse congressional hearings with Koskinen defying everyone and clearly thinking he was better than all of us, President Trump elected to leave him in place through the balance of his appointment. Why, I wish I knew.
And this is why in the private sector, when you are to be sacked, your computer accounts are deactivated, and you are escorted off the property without so much as a heads-up.

Koskinen and Lerner are off to enjoy their lucrative retirements—on us, the American Taxpayer :(
They enforce the individual mandate, so companies should get the same treatment.
