California NAACP Denounces ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ as ‘Racist,’ ‘Anti-Black People’

The California chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is calling on lawmakers to strip "The Star-Spangled Banner" of its status as the national anthem.
The state civil rights organization has been circulating two petitions in the California State Legislature, one that calls the song "one of the most racist, pro-slavery, anti-black songs in the American lexicon," and another that praises former NFL player Colin Kaepernick for kneeling during the anthem, the Sacramento Bee reported.
"This song is wrong; it should have never been there, and just we didn’t have it until 1931, it won’t kill us if it goes away," California NAACP President Alice Huffman.....

This is nothing new. Ray Charles denounced the song in the mid-80s. That is why he sang only “America”. He refused to sing the anthem.

You think the NAACP is bad now? They’re changing from a 501(c)(3) to 501(c)(4) designation. The change will allow the organization to be more even more partisan.

The beef is with the third verse which was written to disparage the people that broke against the patriots and fought with the British... including “hirelings and slaves”
it basically says that they fought for the other side and lost, but our flag is still there.

There’s nothing in any verse of the Star Spangled Banner that is factually incorrect. If there were lies in it about slaves, then they might have an argument. But they don’t have an argument.

In Germany, people sing the third stanza of “Deutschlandlied.” The first stanza famous during the Third Reich is all but forgotten today.
Too bad Alice Huffman doesn’t know about the War Of 1812 and the circumstances that inspired Francis Scott Key to write our national anthem.

The NAACP is a racist anti American organization and their daily actions are proof. They are also hucksters that shakedown corporations for money. In Mississippi they got $10 million a year for several years from the tobacco settlement. Just what entitled them to get money from the tobacco settlement other than the fact that the AG Moore was a Democrat and pandered to the blacks? Hooks was convicted for embezzlement from the NAACP and was honored by the organization.
