Californias NAACP is pushing for state lawmakers to support a campaign to remove "The Star Spangled Banner" as the country's national anthem.
The group says the song, which has been a point of controversy in the NFL, is "one of the most racist, pro-slavery, anti-black songs in the American lexicon," The Sacramento Bee reported Tuesday.
The NAACPs California chapter last week reportedly sent out two resolutions, which had been passed at the organizations state conference last month.
One of the resolutions was to support the removal of the anthem, while the other is an effort to get the NFL to fit former player Colin Kaepernick onto a team.

Given the deep state uniparty, perhaps Taps is more appropriate?
“NAACP is not going to like my answer.”
Nor mine...
The blame for this insanity lies square on the shoulders of a slim majority of American voters. It’s not like no one has seen this coming over the last 30 years. The rest who disagree with the trend towards insanity sit out elections or don’t care enough to rise up and be heard where it counts.
Please someone point out the racist, pro-slavery, anti-black parts ............
O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
‘Tis the star-spangled banner, O long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion,
A home and a country, should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave,
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
O thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war’s desolation.
Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the Heav’n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: ‘In God is our trust.’
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave![
When will the American people have enough? From the results of yesterday’s elections, never!
Excellent. I love it when an enemy comes out of hiding.
The NAACP has gone completely off the rails now.
They are owned bag and baggage by the socialists, anarchists and pretty soon, jihadists.
It’s like the NAACP has become another branch of the ACLU!
So, I no longer pay much attention to what they say. The credibility has collapsed.
Yeah, they want to replace it with Ode to Purple Drank.
Both of these black klan leaders are millionaires. Where do they get their money?
With all of the “diversity” going on in California, I think they should change THEIR “national anthem” to Dylan’s Rainy Day Women 12 & 35. Their Muslim “neighbors” would love it.
“> When will the American people have had enough? <”

New Flash: The NAACP Doesn’t Run the USA!
I’m so sick of listening to these SCUM-BUM-BOZOS.
Pack up your CRAP and go somewhere else!
they have obvy
obviously have never heard the national anthem on a foreign soil.
Sorry, but this whole “states rights” thing was settled years ago with that pesky “Civil War”. All states are under the absolute control of the Federal Government now and have ceded any perceived sovereignty.
My cousin Francis most certainly wasn’t glorifying war or slavery. These demonrats and felons are ignorant fools. Wait, lemme guess, they think it was written during the Civil War, right? The American Revolution poem was referring to the plight of the impressed British soldiers. Ack, bet the ignorant fools think “impressed soldiers” were big shot impressive white honkies thanks to public schools and know nothing Obama.
Is the NAACP even familiar with the correct lyrics?
Not to tell a family secret but my Aunt was Dutch.
Why are they still here? If this country is so bad and so racist why do they stay?
War of 1812, not Revolutionary War.
