While Russian President Vladimir Putin is voicing no opinion on the Bolshevik Revolution, it has opened a rift between two of the countrys most outspoken politicians. In a rare example of mainstream political split in Russia, the row has seen threats of riots and demands for apology to victims of the Soviet regime.
Ahead of the revolutions centennial this week, the President of Russias Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov joined a chorus of voices from across the political spectrum in Russia, calling for the burial of the uprisings leader, Vladimir Lenin. For almost a century, the revolutionarys body has laid embalmed in a mausoleum on Moscows Red Square, splitting opinion from the outset.
Gennady Zyuganov, who now holds the reins of Lenins Communist Party that remains Russias second largest, has made it his flagship policy to keep the mausoleum working despite the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1992.
All this prattle about a reburial is nothing other than an attempt to bait generations against one another on the Red Square and organize mass unrest, Zyuganov told state news agency RIA Novosti on Monday. We will not allow these intrigues to occur. We will simply chase them away.
Kadyrov, infamous for governing his region with an iron fist, albeit with a garrulous devotion to Putin, took offense at Zyuganovs comments and fired back, demanding an apology.

I can see the case for burying Lenin from Putin’s point of view. As they say in “Highlander,” “There can be only one.”
Build a town called “Hell” in Siberia.
Bury Lenin there.
Well, they said nothing about if he’s incinerated....
He’s been burning in hell for many years already.
Not sure the corpse is really Lenin.
Might be wax...
Where to bury Lenin? In a communist plot, of course.
Can't embalm if incinerated. 8>)
Maybe they could bury him in Seattle? Next to his bronze statue?
Fine.
Cremate him then and use his ash to fertilise a co-op farm.
I am sure that Putin, by knowing all the secrets and where all the “bodies are buried”, is more than capable of crushing whatever true communists remain.
Auntie Fahhhs finally found a horrid monument to brutality that they want to preserve?
Dump his corpse in the ocean next to Osama Bin Laden.
I love how the Russia’s Communist Party thinks it can stop Tsar Vladimir from burying Lenin’s corpse. If he wants to detonate the corpse in the middle of Red Square and broadcast it live throughout Russia, there would nothing Russia’s Communist Party could do to stop it.
Might as well bring him to U.S where most of his acolytes are. Bury him in middle of Times Square.
I don’t think so. There is a reason why Putin is silent but Kadyrov is shooting his mouth off. They are testing water this way. It is past time to crack down on the left completely in Russia but consequences and public perception are one big unknown. If there won’t be a crap storm over these statements they might indeed bury Lenin stripping the left of a very powerful symbol and then proceed in more than symbolic spheres.
They should also get rid of Ho Chi Minh’s Soviet style mausoleum where what’s left of his “body” also lies in state.
It’s an insult to Vietnamese architecture and, a perhaps even a fitting insult to Ho, who would rather have had his remains scattered in the North, Central and Southern sections of the country.
So, phooey on him. But that building....
And it probably stinks in there too.
The reason these examples of the most vile group of people in history, exceeding even the atrocities of the nazis, are able to pipe-up at this stage of the game is because the people they victimized are largely dead.
It looks to me like this is the same strategy PDJT is using to deal with the Witch and Mueller.
My Grandfather went through this Revolution when he was 17. They were peasant farmers. He spent hours telling me what his family went through.
His parents sent him and his brother to America to escape the aftermath of this horror. They never saw their kids again.
The brothers fought in WWI. His brother didn’t make it through.
My whole political ideology was shaped by the cruel, selfish, abusive behavior of the Bolsheviks and their mind set. (Later I learned about the abuses of union bosses in the steel industry and the Constitution.)
Gramps was a hoot and taught me well! Miss him.
