Inside the Texas church, she thought it was her turn to die. Then outside, a man appeared.
The Washington Post ^ | 11/7/17 | Samantha Schmidt

She told her son that the shooter paced back and forth, firing into the pews and shooting at cellphones anytime someone tried to call police. He shot at her phone at least three times. “With every shot, she was crying,” he said of the woman. “She was just staring at my mom while she tried to comfort her.” As he fired rounds into the woman, Farida Brown held her hand, telling her she was heading to heaven. At that moment, she heard a shot fired from a different man, at the front door. The other man was Stephen Willeford, who lives near the church.

Exactly my point about the piece of paper or certification - the real qualification was the willingness to get in the fight and recognizing it was up to him. There are all kinds of “keyboard commandos” on the various gun boards who would counsel not getting involved for fear of an attack by a horde of lawyers.

I remember reading a review of Titicut Follies at that time. Never saw it though. It was a rough review.

I read where Willeford's family has lived there for 4 generations, and he knew a lot of people there, many were personal friends. He not only defended his ancestral community but avenged the deaths of his friends and neighbors. That's a heavy load on his mind to deal with right now.

Let me get this straight...The killer was pacing and no man tackled him...They all froze and sat there...They didn’t all move, scatter and run in 15 different directions???.

Decades ago, the ACLU won a court case, saying that it was illegal to institutionalize people for their own safety, or for the safety of others.

After that, the doors of the mental institutions were opened, and the US had an instant "homeless" problem.

Since then, it is almost impossible for families to institutionalize their crazy/dangerous kin.

Adam Lanza's mother tried for a year to get him locked up, but the State AG fought her on it, and Sandy Hook happened.

I contend that if the ACLU had not won that lawsuit, virtually none of the mass shooting of the past several decades would have happened. The shooters' families would have put them away long before the shootings took place.

It was called deinstitutionalization and it was a big mistake. They should have been sterilized at the very least.

And Kelley is a coward, a jihadist would have fought to the death as much as we hate jihadists. Kelly chickened out, at the same time, he could have kept on but he showed he was nothing but a coward himself, also in killing himself.

Lot of mentally ill are in and out of court for misdemeanor crimes. Unless they are charged with a felony, a Judge can’t order them to go to psychiatric hospital. The mentally ill are told to go to community mental health, get treatment, get medicine, then they have to reappear in court for a review hearing to see if they did get the help. If they didn’t, they are in violation of probation, which gets them a fine and days in jail. Then they get out and rinse and repeat.

It’s really sad how our mentally ill folks are treated in our country.

The pharmaceutical companies convinced lawmakers that drugs could medicate mentally ill people to the point they could function in society.

A powerful lobby. They also convinced a lot of fools that birth control pills would prevent the great majority of unwanted pregancies. Look how that turned out, millions of abortions and illegitmate children later.

The sheer ruthless savagery he inflicted on those poor people is beyond anything he could have gleaned from videos. He demonstrated that he had a burning hate for humanity if not pretty well anything and everything that walked the earth. He most certainly served another master.

The shooter was on a roll of rage throughout his life......no surprise things ended this way.....interesting no outcry from the Demorats to institutionalize these folks under lock and key.....they outlawed them to begin with and that blood is on their hands of all these nutcases who leave a trail of death and harm behind them.

According to one of the victims, yes. He fired sots through the door, causing the killer to leave the building. He shot crying babies at point blank range. This is the face of Antifa. It is chaos, evil, horror beyond imagining.

One shot and he flees, drives 95 mph and calls his daddy. Proves what cowards these killers are, and why the public should be ENCOURAGED to receive training and arm themselves. These killers are pussy ass mofo cowards like all bullies and all it takes is ONE person to knock them on their ass.

Could be their intent is for leftists to be able to cite the story saying, “see, look at all those people who got murdered even though an armed citizen was on the scene. Only confiscation will work.” Maybe Bezos or one of his underlings has a conscience, but I’m a skeptical SOB.

Yep - responsibility goes all the way up the chain - those 'caring & concerned' politicians & celebrities incite flakes like him with their 24/7 barrage of alarmist hate and misinformation across every media platform there is, then act all shocked and outraged when one of their pets goes out and acts on that hate. That is my retort to their gun control BS - it is apparent that certain segments of this population do not want peace do not want to get along, deliberately incite others to take direct action, then in turn use resulting incidents as opportunities to try and disarm their opposition.

A rifle doesn’t need a gap in body armor, it makes its own. This part of the story is sensational bs.

It seems that a lot of killers are suicidal. I guess if they have no regard for their own lives, neither do they have regard for the lives of others.
