Ross lied about his net worth to Forbes on several occasions.
Ross failed to fully inform Congress about his Russian business dealings.
And, in 1990, in a controversial business transaction, Ross helped Trump keep half ownership of Trump's bankrupt casino.
From Forbes Magazine:
"...the financial-disclosure forms Ross filed after his nomination to President Donald Trump's Cabinet...showed less than $700 million in assets..."
"Ross protested, citing trusts for his family that he said he did not have to disclose in federal filings."
"That money never existed. It seems clear that Ross lied to us, the latest in an apparent sequence of fibs, exaggerations, omissions, fabrications and whoppers that have been going on with Forbes since 2004."
"In addition to just padding his ego, Ross' machinations [being on the Forbes 400] helped bolster his standing in a way that translated into business opportunities."
"But Ross' questionable assertions to Forbes, combined with a recent controversy about a multimillion-dollar stake in a shipping company that does big business with close associates of Vladimir Putin, paint a clearer picture of the commerce secretary's tactics."
"Ross eventually brokered a deal among Trump, debt holder Carl Icahn and Ross' own clients that allowed Trump to keep a 50% stake. "I think [Ross] is very talented, a fantastic negotiator," Trump said at the time.
Long knives out for Wilbur and Mnuchin this week...
What is with you people?????
FAKE !!!!!!
Stop embarrassing Free Republic!
One problem with that theory.
This information comes from Forbes magazine.
Steve Forbes publicly supported and voted for Donald Trump.
Nothin here is a problem for Ross. Nobody inflates his net worth more than Donald Trump.
Re: FAKE !!!!!!
The information comes from Forbes magazine.
Steve Forbes publicly supported and voted for Donald Trump.
I hold publisher Rich Karlgaard responsible.
I remember reading that Wilbur Ross was a good friend of Malcolm Forbes and is very friendly with Steve Forbes. Just something that I read, nothing that I have any first, second or third hand knowledge of.
But that said every once in a while I read things in Forbes that I know don't represent Steve Forbe's opinions so he probably stays hands off on most reporting.
Ross told Congress he has $700 million.
He told Forbes magazine the rest of the money is in Trusts that he created immediately after the election.
However, when Forbes asked to see documentation that Ross created Trusts after the election, Ross refused to provide any documentation because of privacy issues.
By the way Ross is the Commerce Secretary, not the Treasury Secretary, somebody might want to tell Forbes.
Forbes, when Malcom Forbes was alive and Editor, a great business magazine. I could read it cover to cover. Today no longer, I quit as a subscriber two or three years ago. Too many bad changes and Steve Forbes is more RINO now than he ever was.
Forbes sold itself a few years back.
He told Forbes magazine the rest of the money is in Trusts that he created immediately after the election.
However, when Forbes asked to see documentation that Ross created Trusts after the election, Ross refused to provide any documentation because of privacy issues.
So since Wilbur refused to show Forbes, documentation of his net worth, they are saying he isn't a Billionaire?
I saw this news TRENDING on Twitter all morning! LOL
Punishing good people in thus Kafkaesque nightmare.
Who wants to do public service with this psychotic hatred unleashed. With the vengeance of the Establishment, trying to destroy all conservatives. Now they have Mueller’s goons looking for any crime they can find - when in America today every businessman, commits 3 felonies a day, even if he stays in bed all day.
It is scary.
So F’ing what $2.50 or $200,000,000,000,000,000,000,..
Anything to screw with The First Real President that has ever run The United States of America.
I’m so sick of this crap. Let President Trump do His Job.
Go after hitlary and x42 whoredog.
Actually, Forbes has questioned Ross about his net worth for the last 13 years.
Ross continually claimed that he was worth more than Forbes said he was.
However, every time that Forbes asked Ross to document his claims, Ross refused.
It is scary and you’re absolutely right. This stuff is DESIGNED to drive good people out of public service. The swamp feeds it’s own and eats the rest.
To me this is pretty much a non story.
These guys have money all, over the place....Forbes is just guessing..two billion or three who cares..
Is that a crime?
