I just voted in SW Virginia. Rural area, goes usually about 58-42 for the good guys (or at least the less-evil guys). More cars than usual for off year elections but no real wait inside. This was about noon. I'd guess that it was half of 2016 (Trump), and about equal to when Cuccinelli lost a very close race without any establishment help in 2013 to McAuliffe. Although the Dems have an edge in VA now, I still think it is very winnable for Republicans. My hope is that we pull out a win in a close election. For those conservatives sitting out because Gillespie is kind of gutless, I know you won't listen but it still needs to be said. You are not helping.
Welcome to VirNewYorkginia
Especially if Northam does worse than HRC.
Gillespie not doing well but with the same amount counted the Rep Lt. Gov and Attorney General candidates are leading.
Virginia can be won by the right Republican...in the future.
The Dems will use the results to frighten Reps in Congress in 2018. They will scare them to distance themselves from Trump and his policies.
Please don’t discount the extent of voter tampering. What you say may be true, nevertheless, there are countless reports of fraud nationwide. Maybe they don’t have to cheat too much here, but mark my word, if they did, they would.
It’s not the transplants. Stop.
It’s simple the growth of the Federal Gov under Obama along with illegals and other immigrants especially from middle east.
That’s what I was thinking..the media will help too. GOP will become more spineless than they already are.
Dream on. I guess you could say the same thing about CA or NY.

Ed’s up over a point in Chesterfield County... but don’t know if that’s still a bellwether. Used to be!
Other than Trump saying “Vote for Gillespie” he never campaigned for him..Obama lost 1000 seats in 8 years no one in the media made a fuss, but of course that was Obama
It has to be the right Republican at the right time and the right message.
NY can be won.
They don’t need to be scared they’re already doing that. I mean if they wanna run to the left off of a Governors race in VA that was never supposed to be competitive, welp then.
Virginia politics is different from the rest of the country. Ollie North Republicans still hate John Warner Republicans ...
I think the fat lady's doing her vocal exercizes. Looks like it might be over for Fairfax County's own.
I wonder if the GOP is stupid enough to pick Gillespie to run against Kaine next year? Hope not!
Gillespie did not want Trump campaigning for him.
Still a ways to go, but on the wrong side of the totals so far. :frown:
And maybe thats why he is gonna lose. Saw on twitter Republicans did come out and vote for Gillespie, but not the enthusiasm they had when they voted for Trump, less voters
Ed Rollins says lots of lefties/tech folks have moved to VA.
