Iconic actress Michelle Pfeiffer chimed in on the sexual assault and harassment scandal consuming Hollywood, telling the BCC on Sunday that abuse of women in the film industry is systemic.
I have never worked with Harvey, Pfeiffer said of disgraced indy film mogul Harvey Weinstein, who has been accused of sexual assault or harassment by more the 60 women. I have had some experiences, and I have to say, since this has all come out there really hasnt been one woman that Ive talked to who hasnt had an experience. And it just really goes to show you how systemic the problem is.
I know Im having conversations with women Ive known my whole life and we have never discussed this and it is coming out, said the Academy Award-nominated actress, who has graced the small and silver screens for decades, finding breakthrough success in the early 80s in Grease 2 and Scarface.
Pfeiffer believes that theres an enormous amount of course-correcting being done to root out her industrys problem with sexual misconduct.

It’s almost as if those Hollywood Democrats were waging a War on Women, eh Shellie?
I tried to post an article from the Daily Wire, but it isn’t welcome here. Anyway, I made a similar comment, in that a lot of actresses have had a simmering rage for many years because of the men who ran Hollywood, and who abused and harassed with certain impunity. I wonder though if the naming of names is going to stop now.
'Wee Little Baby Man Had A Widdle Baby Tantrum': Rose McGowan Mocks Alec Baldwin
Alec Baldwin posted a comment criticizing the actresses who settled and got pounded. He has now disappeared from Twitter.
How noble of the sexual predator.
Maybe the worst offenders have already been named or have already passed on. I’m guessing this doesn’t happen as often as it did some 30 years ago. Any new names are likely to be people the general American public has never heard of.
I would presume women have much more influence and clout in film production nowadays.
But what do I know? I have not yet seen even one theater film this year. I’m out of the demographic loop.
Life is hard for multimillionaire holyweird starlets.
Surprises me that there are this many conservative men in Hollywood! /s
I’ve been to a few this year. I wanted to see the new Thor and I heard it was pretty good, and I know I would enjoy it. But, it has Mark Ruffalo, and people like him are deal breakers now. I refuse to help him make more money to donate to fascist Democrats.
This scene from the godfather has been coming to mind...

Remember laughing at Groucho Marx talking about all the Hollyweird faggots and pedophiles (not very explicitly) and naming some of them.
Then he would say, "It's OK, they can't sue us, they're dead!"
You didn’t ask me, but I think you should consider seeing Thor anyway, even with Ruffalo in it. Yes I do. The media is ‘infested’ with his type, for now anyway. It’s almost impossible to stay separate from it at all times. A few of my favorite musicians of the 70’s would hate me if they really knew me, but I don’t care. We will never meet.
I enjoy their musical talents anyway. Their compositions helped me during the teenage and young adult years. They can never take that joy away. It satisfies my momentary desire for melody, harmony, shock and intrigue. I have to compartmentalize, or I would find very few musicians to listen to. We are all imperfect if one looks close enough. I’m not saying you were claiming perfection, because you were not.
Put it this way. If you allow the socialists to push you into a colorless, tasteless cold darkened corner of existence just to prove your virtue to no one in particular, the (progressive) terrorist supporters will have won!
A whole lot of Feminism is the gaining of prestige and power clinging to powerful men then punishing less powerful men for being men. Mrs Bill is the model.
Exactly. These females decided to play along with the game, because they valued fame and money over respect. Most of them are drug taking hoes anyway. Now they act offended.
Except for the minors and the women who were actually rapped I have no sympathy for the rest of them. They decided to abandon any morals and do what they did to gain fame and fortune. Maybe most of them would have ended up waiting tables for a living but their morals would have remained intact.
I am not perfect in any way, shape, or form, and I am not in Hollywood but I turned down two big projects that would have made me quite wealthy because it would have meant giving in to what I believe is wrong and would have made me a hypocrite. I refused to be a whore to the Government for money and these women could have chosen to not whore themselves out for the same.
Who have gone along with this for their fame and fortune since, well, forever.
They act offended so the other women wont turn on them as being totally okay with this, which they were.
We live in the internet age, fellas. It is entirely possible to watch all of the TV and movies you can stand without supporting Hollywood with a single dime of your money. Granted, there might be some ethical considerations for you, depending on how you would acquire such things. I’ll start you off easy, though - most public libraries have DVDs for free check out. You simply have to wait for the movie you want to see to come out on DVD.
Is this really a surprise that actresses have gotten roles by sleeping with producers? That its a common thing in hollywood? Is anyone so naive to be truly shocked?
Good grief they made their choices and people knew this crap went on and still they all kept working and collecting paychecks. To act offended is hypocritical.
