Being a Democrat means never having to say you are sorry.

Pretty hard to serve as a US Senator if you’re behind bars. You can’t exactly phone it in.
If he’s convicted and sentenced to time in prison and the Rats do not vote to remove him, the people of NJ will be short of representation.

The only way to get a commie ‘RAT out of the Senate is if they die and somebody finds out about it.

For a Democrat a criminal conviction is a resume enhancer.

Republicans need a two-thirds majority in the Senate to agree to expel a member, which means they would need Democratic votes. Well worth the vote to get the Dems on the record, especially those running for reelection in 2018.

Rats will slow play this and compare it to the Repubs slow playing a SCOTUS nominee.

Wouldnt a conviction for that type of crime come with a prison sentence?

It would be interesting if he was convicted sentenced to prison and refused to resign even when a Democrat was elected as Governor. The Republicans would then be in a position to benefit from refusing to allow him to be expelled from the Senate.

Personally I hope he beats the charges. Dem. Nutcase- sure. But not a felon . Remember Obama brought these charges because Menendez went against him in the Iran deal. The nut was right on Iran and Obama went after him . He does not deserve to be in jail. Rand Paul’s neighbor does.

Interesting how rebubs are removed for even an accusation, see Tom Delay. But demos can serve even after conviction. There has never been a weaker party then the repubs. Thanks bushies.

Being a NJ Democrat means there is no jury in the state that would convict a Democrat of much of anything.
