I drank too much at many a fraternity party back in the day. There was strong peer pressure. But it was nobody’s fault but mine. It was a voluntary association I could have walked away from at any time.
We had a big party one semester. A kid left the party, went back to the dorm and jumped out of a window. Killed him. They tried to blame us but one of our members was the first African American SGA President in the school’s history so it went nowhere.

At that age and maturity level (not just of you but most people) you wouldn’t have walked away. You would have been afraid to deal with any consequences. Again, not you specifically but people that age. Now, more so.
Frats and sororities are a waste of effort and money. And no, I wasn’t turned down. I never rushed. In fact, I left a heavily greek school for one that sold itself as one big fraternity. Had the time of my life.
