Trump: 'Chain Migration Is a Disaster for This Country and It's Horrible'

WASHINGTON, DC — President Donald Trump says the current legal immigration system, based almost entirely on family-based chain migration, is “a disaster for this country and it’s horrible.” During an interview with Fox News’s Laura Ingraham, Trump slammed chain migration in which newly naturalized immigrants to the United States have been readily allowed to bring their extended relatives, spouses, and children to the country, causing a boom in the foreign-born population — 44 million immigrants now reside in the U.S. — while keeping American wages stagnant and forcing working and middle-class Americans to compete with cheaper, foreign workers for jobs.

If the lottery winner brings 23 family members, then is deported for crimes or other reasons, do the 23 family members leave with him?

I don't think so.

Immigration without assimilation is an invasion.

Congress thinks of themselves as corporate employees, not public servants.

Were it not so, they would behave differently.

Add birth right citizenship.

If Trump gets to appoint at least one more Supreme Court justice, we just may get a court to rule that "birth right citizenship" (particularly those born to people illegally in the US) is a perversion of the 14th amendment's original intent, which was to create a definition of citizenship that would recognize former slaves. It wasn't written so that pregnant Third World women could scuttle across the border illegally, give birth, and then use that "citizen" baby as an anchor to bring over the rest of the extended family.

Both parties have been pursuing a bipartisan policy of flooding the country with foreigners to dilute the vote of the citizens.
We would not vote for the new world order they envision so they needed new voters.

The Bush plan for turning the USA into North Mexico.

Add birth right citizenship.

When I was in the coast guard reserves, an ensign told me she witnessed boat people (from haiti) having sex on deck. The women were pregnant, and by having sex they were hoping to induce labor in hopes that their baby would be born on US territory, thereby setting their anchor.

That was the ensign's story. Officers don't lie.

Stop all immigration until we get a handle on what’s really happening. I believe a 7 year study into the problem would be appropriate.

Immediately deport all those here illegally.

Well said, “birth right citizenship” (particularly those born to people illegally in the US) is a perversion of the 14th amendment's original intent, which was to create a definition of citizenship that would recognize former slaves."

Chain Migration is a TOTAL disaster for the USA and adds no value. Merit based immigration should be the Law!!

Any policy towards illegals must - MUST - address the incentives that are set up by that policy. Are you incentivizing more to try their hand at illegal entry or are you incentivizing them to stay home and apply through the legal process?

With 600 million people south of our porous non-existent southern border and untold millions outside the Americas who might also avail themselves of this easy access, there can be only one immigration policy -

Stop giving prizes

for illegal entry.

Any measure that permits those who entered illegally to benefit from that illegal act is amnesty. And any amnesty will bring millions more invaders.

This must be stopped.

Will you help stop this?

All we need are Supreme Court justices who are willing to stand up for the obvious on this issue. Gorsuch is a strong believer in original intent, so a correct and honest interpretation of the 14th amendment’s meaning should be a great opportunity for him to make his presence felt in the Supreme Court.

One other unforeseen consequence of the disastrous chain migration policy is the squeeze that it has put on housing. It has made housing less affordable, especially to first time home owners. A young American couple starting out in life has to compete against the extended family of Mexicans, Asians, and other non-Americans.

Foreigner's will snap up a small affordable property, and than pack in the whole clan — aunts, uncles, grandma, cousins, all the kids. They divide the mortgage and expenses, ultimately driving up the price of real estate because the burden per individual is small. Additionally, Americans are competing against set-asides, diversity grants, and sweetheart mortgage terms designed to pack 'em in.

Living like this is not part of mainstream American culture. Packing a dozen people into a 900 square foot bungalow is not part of the American way of life. But foreigners will pack three adults per bedroom, converting basement, garage, and garret into sleeping quarters for the extended tribe.

With mamacita and tia doing all the childcare and cooking, and a half-dozen incomes coming in, it is no wonder that once nice suburban neighborhoods become transformed into barrios and Little Tijuanas, while young American couples are locked out in the cold.

Another difference between normal Americans and liberals:
the left, and their GOP-e allies, see immigration as a right—even if done illegally. That’s why they insist on calling illegal aliens “immigrants. And they infer in their definition, `If they only had that little piece of paper, that document ... ‘; as Darryl put it, “Yeah. And people in Hell want Slurpees.”)
Most Americans see the law being broken and we also see immigration as a privilege, and the law supports us.
It doesn’t support the left and their GOP-e allies who want cheap labor and plantation votes.
DACA was illegal. Obama tried to compound that illegality with DAPA: he actually tried to bootstrap illegal parents on the backs of their illegal children.
Real immigrants should be assets, not liabilities, and criminals by definition are liabilities. They cost us. When they bring in their families, shirt-tail relatives and friends the problem increases exponentially. We are seeing the results after a quarter century of uniparty (what they see as) `salutary neglect’.

Another difference? The left and their GOP-e allies see the keeping and bearing of arms as a privilege, while we see it as a right. Again, the law supports us.

The spergs are in complete meltdown now, a year later, realizing these things after 8 years of Obama and Clinton and Koskinen/Lerner and Holder and on-and-on ... unbridled Democratic lawlessness. MAGA

It will take a well-publicized fight over deporting the parents of an anchor baby to bring it all the way to the Supreme Court. With a DoJ that’s actually serious about cracking down on sanctuary cities and illegal immigration, I’m sure we’ll have such a case soon.
