FRANKFORT Gov. Matt Bevin, making his first public comments on a sexual harassment scandal that has rocked the state House of Representatives, called Saturday for “the immediate resignation of every individual who has settled a sexual harassment case, who is a party to trying to hide this type of behavior.”
Bevin, in a hastily called news conference in the Capitol Rotunda, mentioned no one by name. The Republican governor called the allegations serious and reprehensible.
“These alleged actions, which haven’t been denied, are reprehensible, indefensible and unacceptable. Any elected official or state employee who has settled a sexual harassment claim should resign immediately,” Bevin said. “The people of Kentucky deserve better. We appropriately demand a high level of integrity from our leaders, and will tolerate nothing less in our state.”
He added: “You either publicly condemn or you publicly condone this type of behavior.”
Bevin made the public statement after Republican Rep. C. Wesley Morgan of Richmond had called Saturday for the resignation of Kentucky House Speaker Jeff Hoover, accusing him and party leaders of concealing sexual harassment allegations against Hoover and three other Republican legislators.

What happens if you are completely innocent, but can’t afford to pay for a full trial plus multiple appeals?
Now, even if you are innocent, you can’t afford to settle either, because if you do, you will lose your job!

This R Gov DEMANDS the Resignation of ALL involved and he gets the endorsement of the Ds(doesn’t ‘matter’ if they involved).
Now were the allegations against D’s and a D Gov, the reaction would be to take a ‘wait and see’ attitude UNLESS an R was involved then run him out of town on a rail.
ALL Dems would agree and a good portion of the Rs would volunteer to ‘man the whip’ against his fellow R.
Sorry, a POX on both sides and lets heat up the tar and lay in a supply of feathers and take matters into our own hands.....

Madness. Allegations plead to a court and the right to settle a case, by the defendant, in order to keep his job, or to spare his family, or to save his money from litigation expenses costs him his job?

Is this the payoff of the whole thing? Throw a few leftard scumbags under the bus to establish the narrative, then go after Republicans with bogus allegations?
I disagree with this action for it makes it easy to destroy someone with just a claim, totally destroying innocent until proven guilty. Now those actually convicted, that may be another thing altogether. This is actually how Republicans get themselves in trouble.

Shouldn’t they too resign? Without actually going through the system to prove something did or didn’t happen; why should anyone resign?
Any unscrupulous person can accuse another of grabbing their balls or boobs. Proving it in court or getting enough recorded for a judge (at least) to hear should be a minimum threshold. On film or a witness would be even better. Predators don’t just stop at one time. Trap them, film them, then sue them causing them a loss of employment. If it rises to the level of rape; jail them but good luck getting them to pay anything then.
Maybe, just maybe there may be a more serious effort at reforming torte laws? Could this also usher in loser pays?
That would be nice, but I doubt they will go there.

This sh!tstorm is the sort of thing that they tried to use against Clarence Thomas, the lack of evidence means nothing compared to the seriousness of the charges.
