Yep, I member that, windsorknot. I like to think Reagan could have been elected without kowtowing to the establishment with a Bush selection.

I wonder if Pence is the new H.W. though I doubt it. If he had picked an establishment guy, we probably wouldn't see the establishment on his ass so hard.

Neither Bush stood for anything. I remember reading the never-Trumper John Podhoretz account of the first meeting of the Bush reelection team in 1992. Podhoretz had been a junior speechwriter. One person tried to list the reasons to reelect Bush and for the first 20 minutes the only one they could find was “been President for four years”

George HW Bush was the worst mistake Reagan ever made....been saying it for decades.

If Reagan wasnt forced to take HW to appease the ESTABLISHMENT then we wouldnt have elected HW for REAGAN's third term. HW gave us Clinton because he was a SH!TTY president domestically and LIED to us then effectively killed the booming economy he was set to inherit under his years by raising taxes instead. THATS HOW STUPID HW is. Whatever growth he had before that tax increase was the afterglow of the REAGAN years.

W only got himself elected by CLAIMING to be the next coming of REAGAN. He wasnt, and the acorn didnt fall far from the tree but at least he understood economics on a large scale then gave back what he was set to gain then on an expanded WAR with Iraq just to get payback for Saddam's attempted assassination of papa in Kuwait just after the first gulf war.
