Former President George W. Bush and his father, former President George H.W. Bush, both criticize President Trump in a new book to be released this month, with George W. Bush admitting that, despite Trumps political affiliation, hes worried that I will be the last Republican president.
George H.W. Bush also calls Trump a blowhard in the book, The Last Republicans, by Mark K. Updegrove, which was previewed by The New York Times and CNN on Friday.
"I don't like him. I don't know much about him, but I know he's a blowhard. And I'm not too excited about him being a leader, the senior Bush said, according to the author. He also commented on Trumps ego.
Wow, this guy doesn't know what it means to be president, the younger Bush said. He indicated that a president should not exploit the anger, incite it but rather come up with ideas to deal with it.
Neither man voted for Trump in the last election, and George H.W. Bush confirms in the book that he voted for Hillary Clinton. George W. Bush said he left the top of his ballot blank and did not vote for Clinton because she has bad judgment.

I think it goes deeper than that, even. Even in “American Made” which lied and had Barry Seal revealed before his death, it showed Billy Jeff Clinton calling the FBI, DEA, Arkansas State Troopers and the Arkansas Attorney General off of Barry Seal when there was a raid on Mena.
I doubt Bill just made that up by himself. Of course you had to pay close attention to get it. “Governor Clinton is on the phone” and seconds later the Arkansas Attorney General picks up the phone and says “What is it, Bill?”. Couldn’t believe they admitted even that part though it was minimized.
Of course, it’s still from Hollywood.....
And I thought that Obama would go down as the most pretentious ex-president.
When were either of the Bushes a true Republican?
“They didnt criticize because they were on board”.
Exactly!
And that’s why W never defended himself when the Clintons and Obama attacked him time after time.
Pretentious prick. I don’t mean that in a bad way. ;)
“People were thrown off of this forum for questioning GWs bonafides”
My brother was one of those people.
May the Bush RINO’s go the way of the Dodo.
It’s a shame and uncalled for. A lot of good people have been booted for telling it like it is.
Question for W: How long can any commercial airliner fly at sea level at 500-580 mph before the wings come off?
JimRob is absolutely committed to silencing all questions about you-know-what. This is the intellectual dishonesty at the heart of FR.
Sad but true.
That wasn’t me. That was E. Pluribus Unum who posted the Hillary 9/11 gif.
“The point is that W’s Second Inaugural Address was probably the stupidest in American History. “
I thought that as I listened to Dubya give it. Certainly glad to see you validating my impression.
Take Woodrow and LBJ, blend it together, and W was still worse.
I’m curious to know what idiots wrote it for him. I suspect Medved and Gerson had a hand in it.
and let’s not forget the ever popular
“Jobs Americans Won’t Do”
and
“Family Values Don’t Stop At the Rio Grande”
please, last Republican before Trump was Dutch Reagan
DOH!
Somebody needs to wake up Rip Van Dubya and let him know that Donald Trump won the election a year ago as a Republican.
Yep, totally agree. I’m still glad he got in instead of Gore or Kerry, those guys were just white Obamas. Still, jeez what a clown. On the homefront, he was on the wrong side of every issue. In the War on Terror (still think that name was stupid and misplaced, it’s gutless to not name your enemy), his leadership became completely rudderless in his 2nd term. Progress stopped and Bush decided that the way to win was to just keep knocking off terror leaders with drone strikes. That’s lame. You have to show a body count or they just laugh and rightly think you’re stupid and weak. They laugh even harder at you when you apologize for taking out a few extra civilians and/or an errant building.
Prosecuting guys on the ground for not memorizing the 120-page primer on the rules of engagement was the death-blow. The War on Terror is a $1.4 trillion joke.
And for the eight years prior GWB grinned and mugged while his disastrous policies paved the way for Homobama.
