JESSAMINE COUNTY, KENTUCKY (WDKY) A well-known Kentucky-based bluegrass duo is getting lots of attention for a new song.
The Moron Brothers produced a video for their song Never Take A Knee and posted it on Facebook just over a week ago. It has already been viewed nearly four million times.
Songwriter Mike Carr, one half of The Moron Brothers, said he wrote the song in response to NFL players kneeling during The National Anthem.
I watch the news he said, and I just felt a lot of people were hungry for something like that. The only way I know to express myself is through song.
The pair is usually known for their humor, but Carr said he didnt want to joke about this topic. He sees standing for the flag as showing respect for veterans. He said people who want to protest police shootings or other things should find another way to do it other than kneeling during the anthem.
The Moron Brothers will perform the song on stage for the first time this Saturday at Renfro Valley Entertainment Center.
Some people may get up and walk out, Carr said. Id hope not, but you never know.
But he said so far response has been overwhelmingly positive.
Im amazed at how many people have shared this song in just a week. Its more people than live in the whole state of Kentucky.
GREAT SONG! Share with everyone you know who will never take a knee.
Its a very well written song .
Super! never heard of them until this - had to bookmark them.
Love it. Thanks for posting.
Shared it on my Facebook page couple weeks ago. Love it.

I truly dislike that people have made this about veterans. It’s about the United States of America and ALL it stood for and given it’s citizens.
True, but at least it's a handhold on the issue. Discursive prose doesn't grab attention like a catchy slogan does. And it serves to define the sides in a way that transmits well through mass media.
The leftists have been doing this for ages ("My body, my choice!"), and their own weapons are now being turned back on them.
Including music, now!
Never take a knee! Anti NFL Song by the Moron Bros:!

The appeal would be greater if the meme didn’t limit it to veterans. How about all the millions of people that have worked for what the U.S. stands for? Sorry, it doesn’t have the wings to fly if it’s just for veterans.
“I truly dislike that people have made this about veterans. Its about the United States of America and ALL it stood for and given its citizens.”
THANK YOU! I have said the same thing. The soldiers are just a portion of it. Respect for the flag and anthem have to do with the overall essence, history, and totality of what America is. If people don’t “get” that, they need to find another homeland.
I'm just saying that it's an effective hook. Not that it exhausts the issue.
And, it appears to be flying well enough.

“... I truly dislike that people have made this about veterans...”
I definitely see your point. However, when I think about the flag/and anthem... I always think of coffins coming “home” with flags draped over them. I think the knee thing started over BLM/anti police sentiment. However, it was the NFL that related anti police and the flag/anthem. Thus, people now changing the point that it is anti-vet is simply following how they see the flag. Yes... it really is about the US and ALL it stood for and given it’s citizens but at the price of lives and blood (ie. veterans).
Right, because no one but veterans have died in the building of America. See, you've fallen into the narrow scope of what it means to have sacrificed for the U.S. Millions have died at home while building this great country. Millions have sacrificed to build it to the greatest country in the history of the world. Limiting the talk to veterans means the sentiment doesn't reach those people's families and heritage.
Cute!
Love of our flag, respect for vets and National Anthen is part of the whole... it’s the part these NFL jerks are disrespecting... Pass the song around and boycott NFL football...
