Two here
Plastic sucks.
Halon/chemical is questionable.
My real world experience favors large CO2 extinguishers.

It’s hard (for me) to even imagine 40 million *anything* being recalled, manufactured, shipped, anything.
Units made since.... 1973!!! Can one imagine how many of those would still be in service. This is government abuse— for the result of ... 1 (ONE) proven causative death from failure. Seriously. Nuts.
44 YEARs worth of the models. Wonder which competitor engineered this?
Thanks mad_as_he$$ ! Added to the honey-do list for this weekend.

Three here. Thank you for posting this information.
Thanks. Had a small kitchen fire last week. One fire extinguisher didn’t do anything, the other seemed to feed the fire. I’ll check the numbers.
Thanks for the heads up. I have eleven of them on the list. I’m feeling a bit peeved right now. I take fire safety seriously. The only ones not recalled so far are the automotive.
I have two. One in the kitchen, one in the vehicle. Both are recalled. I bought them both in 2004 when we moved into the new house. Sent the others to the fire department for disposal. I’ve never needed to use one. I don’t even think I’d be able to read the directions while trying to put out a fire. This is good because now I know what to do in case of emergency. I read everything.
Get the new Tundra fire extinguisher in a can. You can thank me later.
‘Heard Kidde was just going to replace the nozzle.
Just submitted my claim and it looks like they will be sending me a new extinguisher to replace the one I bought in 1984. Thanks for posting the links!
Bump.......
Bkmk
Update. Kidde has replaced all three of my units. The worst part of the whole process is dealing with Fed-x to schedule the return shipment.
