Bowe Bergdahl, the solider who deserted his post in Afghanistan in 2009 and was subsequently captured by a Taliban affiliate, will not have to serve jail time for the crime. In a stunning announcement on Friday, the judge deciding the case ordered Bergdahl to pay $1,000 from his salary for the next 10 months. He will be demoted to the rank of E-1 during that time and after paying his fine he will be dishonorably discharged. Prosecutors asked the judge to sentence Bergdahl, who pleaded guilty to the charges, to 14 years in prison.

But how many soldiers and Marines are sitting in prison for BS charges. This is one area I would like to see Trump engage in more. I know he has a lot on his plate, but he can select a JAG officer to clean this up. Exactly!! Has Trump Tweeted about this yet?
This is despicable. Traitor Bergdahl should at the very least be rotting in prison the rest of his life.

Nonsense, IMO. Our justice system is already screwed up, and now our Military “Justice” system has been thoroughly compromised, particularly over the last 8 years.
You can blame lawyers nonsensical bullshit over the last 60 years as the reason this bastard walked, and more to the point, we can blame ourselves for letting our justice system and military be compromised to the absurd condition they are in today.
We have allowed, and continue to allow, this situation to fester over the decades and we are getting what we deserve.
