When the elevator doors opened as I was leaving the office last night, there was a SEA of little folks in costume all the way around the ice ring. I had to go through the line to get out of the mall.

The malls are warm and safe...

And the city was covered in pea soup fog. I had to tiptoe home. And I kept the lights off.

We grew up in an era that will not soon, if ever, return. We are at war and we will be at war for the foreseeable future. Halloween is one of many casualties of this war.
